What is the proper color (and sheen) for the seat back covers in a 1970 Charger with black interior?  Black or charcoal?  Flat, gloss, semi-gloss, semi-flat?

Are you talking about the removable bucket seat backs?

If so, they were made from black plastic, not painted or dyed.

Yes.  And now they need to be painted to match the original color & sheen.
