I don't have much to add here, but a few years ago I threw some Bosch platinums in my truck and it ran awful.  The platinums were all they had in stock to fit the truck, don't recall why I didn't go somewhere else.  It ran so bad after with the tune up, I figured I messed something up.  I could figure it out and ended up going to the stealership for them to check it out.  After a day or so they figured it was the plugs I used.

Anyway, I don't know about any other applications but, i know at the time my 30,000 mile 94 dodge ram with 318/auto didn't like them.  Maybe this can help someone avoid some aggravation someday.

i always run champion plugs in the 440 , except the last plug change , NGK's went in as that was all i had on the shelf , on that sunday afternoon, ran real good also. when i checked the plugs after a good full throttle blast they were slightly a lighter shade of brown compared to the j12c 's that came out.

I prefer champions, but as my dad told me years ago autolite is made by ford so they run better on oil burners    ;D

Ghoste

Are they still made by Ford?

mikepmcs

autolite was never made by ford as far as i can tell but ford promoted and actually was in a lawsuit one time about the autolite deal.

here's a read for you, i'll try to find the law suit too

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Ghoste

Your first link states that Ford purchased Autolite in 1961 and sold them to Bendix in 1973.
