What is the best way to swap my leaf springs?

BTW: This will be a one man operation.

Block front wheels.
Jack up rear of car.
Put jack stands under the rear frame rails near the front leaf spring hangers.
Lower car onto jack stands.
Make sure car is stable.
Put jack under rear diff.
Apply light lifting pressure.
Undo U bolts holding rear axle to leaf springs - do one side at a time.
Undo leaf spring hardware front and rear.
Pull old leaf spring out.
Transfer necessary hardware to new spring - front hanger, new bushings, etc.
Install new spring.
Same steps for other side.

Note: make sure the pin on the leaf springs goes into the hole on the spring perch on the axle housing before you tighten the U bolts.

I've got stock RT springs on the back of my 70 Charger. I drive it on the street, just cruising and having fun. I prefer comfortable performance. Is switching to Calvert split mono leaf springs a bad idea for a street driven car? Is there a harsh ride penalty? I'd love to drop the weight and gain traction, but I definitely don't want a stiff ride.

The entire suspension is stock currently.
