Good base for a PLYMOUTH, Dodge has a longer wheelbase!  :Twocents:

1" difference, change the front rear spring holder and it becomes a Dodge, but that $5K is kinda out of line with what your getting

Try adding up all those good metal parts from AMD that are on this in Canadian $$ and see how far you get

:iagree:

But it amazes me that when people look at a rolling shell (I'll use 68-70 B Body in this reference) for sale, they devalue it less than if it were all separate body panels. I couldn't even get $800.00 for a stripped out 68 B Body 4 door rust free sheet metal through out the shell. But let's say I remove the 26" rad support there's $250.00, upper cowl $300.00, lower cowl $300.00, frame rails $250.00 each etc. And all of these panels are both 2 Dr & 4 Dr related including this list below:

Trunk floor
Trunk extensions
Floor boards
Inner fenders
A pillars
Torsion bar cross member
Inner wheel well houses

Yet they look at the rust free, dent free, damage free, dry SW sheet metal as "it's a 4 door $800.00 are you kidding me".

Fine go buy all that AMD sheet metal vs OEM and get back at me after a month of doing metal fabrication.

Yea I know there's labor involved removing the panels but labor also comes when working with new non OEM sheet metal.

We all know the sum of the parts on these cars are worth more than the whole in most cases.  This is what keeps salvage yards in business.  But, this will be a hard sell for sure.  Rarely is one going to have a car that needs what is offered here versus a trunk pan or inner fender. Or maybe a floor pan.  This is for reconstructing a car from the ground up.  If a car is that bad most folks find a more suitable candidate for restoration.

Just purely out of curiosity, I wonder what happened to the rest of the Satellite?

Seems strange that the floors/frame/rockers would be 100% rust free and straight and the rest of the body would be bad enough to cut away.

I wonder what the story is.

not wanting to hijack anything

when I first glanced at the picture (70sublime) posted , with out reading the text , I thought  for a sec it was the bronze 69 440 charger R/T , that was rolled when almost new , a farmer bought it or it was his , & cut all the upper body off &  dropped a truck body on top ,  was a thread on it , on here a long time ago  , might of been the old site  :scratchchin:  , think a guy bought it off the farmer & the running gear still had really low miles  , new owner , removed the truck body &  parted out  what was left , or something along them lines  :scratchchin:

I have been kind of wondering what happened to the rest of the car if this part is so nice
So I just asked

Will let you know when I find out

I think it's worth salvaging, keeping or even using to fix a basket case, but I have to agree that the price is too high. Like other high priced items that have been sold in the past, the asking price is just a starting point. This has almost nothing to compete against & just as much to compare it to as far as previous sales. Aside from the cost of buying these parts whether they are OEM or new after market, what's the labor add up to to assemble the entire collection of metal? What would it cost to strip a car down to what this guy is selling? It will probably be sold, but for less money to someone with a rare car that doesn't want after market parts & shows up with cash.

Maybe the guy pulled the body off to put on a new Charger/Challenger chassis.

This is what I asked and got back

Is all this metal in the pictures factory original ? If this is so good what happened to the rest of the car ? I see it has an A/C firewall Firm on the price ?

Yes I believe all the metal is factory
All spot welds no mig weld marks other than
Small factory ones
Doing a body conversion onto a newer charger
And yes it is an air conditioned car
