Great looking car, although still wearing Eagle ST's, so I'm guessing it hasn't been driven much in the last 20 years...

Hi, new to the forum, been reading posts for some time . I was the buyer of this Superbird.
Wondering if you guys have any history or info I don't already have with the car?
Thanks, Matt

Welcome to the forum!  Congrats on the car also..

What state was the car originally shipped to?

I'm sure some members have some information.

The seller was from Scranton PA, car dealer/collector. I live in central mass , own a repair shop. I've had dozens of mopars, but never a Superbird.
Car was supposedly restored back in 2004, driven approx 100 miles till I bought it. Came with a ton of history, including pics of the car in 1974 and 1984, original newspaper ad from the dealer that sold it, discounting the car ...
Just finished up replacing a couple seals on transmission and an oil pan gasket. Car runs and drives great though.
Love just having it in my garage .

I'd have to double check, but fairly certain it was sold in Michigan.

Early owners were in Michigan.   Fellow's name was Jim Unger.  He had two Superbirds.   This is one of them.   I will have some old pics from the 1970's.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
So according to a hand written history paper that came with the car,  Elmer Cotton was the original owner, sticker was 4700 and he paid 3195. I have the original ad from Ken Brown Dodge for the car from the newspaper . Elmer sold it to Steve Lawrence in 1974, who then sold it to Art Smitter later that year. a Year later Art sold it to Tom Goeree, then bought it back from him because Tom owed Art money.
Art finally sold it to Jim Unger in 1975. Jim kept the car till 1988, when he sold it to Bill Zechiel from Indiana.Bill eventually sold the car to Dan and Dave Durst in 1996.  Thats the end of the history I have, there are a couple more owners before myself on the title, collectors I believe,  but I am thinking Dave and Dan were the ones who had the restoration done.
One of the neatest parts of this purchase was all the history and paperwork, build sheets, window sticker, dealer ad, etc...

or any more info?

Pic of Jim Unger's two Birds,  dated 8/28/76.    I am not sure which car is which as both are bench cars.    The car on the left has a license plate bracket and should show evidence of repair on the top leading edge of the nose when viewed from inside.      There are some other photos, but I have not found them as of yet.

Thanks, it is an awesome car, drives great too, put a little work into several minor things. Out at a top detailer getting paint correction and full ceramic coating, not that it was that bad anyway...
