This is the way I see Jeff Gorden...    Jeff Gorgen is a good driver. I totally agree with that. BUT If he accepted that he makes mistakes more often, he might be more liked by the fans...

Mark Martin.  He races clean and is honest when he causes a wreck.  Hands down the best driver that hasn't won the cup!

not to fuel the fire ,but when petty won all those races,he had the most factory support of any team period.he once quit driving mopars and went elsewhere because he wasnt getting the best and most!so when you compare stats,to dale sr or any one else in the future keep that in mind.also,they ran a lot more races back then,a lot of 100 milers etc,that wouldnt even fill a dirt track grand stand now-and i like junior.kahne,newman,stewart,and joe nemecheck!!classy guy and he flipped off harvick!

To add even more fuel to the fire, the Earndharts are Nascars wonder boys.  It seems to me that the rules are slanted in favor of the cars they drive....

True enough, but nothing has changed. The rich teams win more, always have. Look at the top ten in points..........all big names with huge dollars backing them. Dale also had a huge bucks behind him also, probably far more than Petty ever had from Chry Co.......GM has deeper pockets than the number 3 auto maker. And wether it a short race or long, Petty still averaged better finishes/wins.............can't argue the numbers.

I liked Dale Earnhardt, but I really don't watch racing anymore. I'm always busy with my racecar and don't really pay attention to NASCAR anymore. I thought that I wanted to try to make it to NASCAR, but I'm not sure anymore.

I always enjoy watching the #3 versus #43 argument. If it weren't for Richard Petty driving those awesome 3rd gen Chargers I'd probably be on a Mustang board right now.
My other favorite driver was David Pearson "The silver fox", if you want to talk percentages of starts versus wins he's right up there.
I really don't have a particular driver I root for, but there are several whom I hope hit the wall whenever their on the track.

I would take Richard Petty and Bobby Isaac over anyone today.That's back before NASCAR became the WWF of auto racing.The rules slant more toward GM because there are more GM fans which fill the seats.
