New AGM resto battery warning

So I bought a new battery in Carlisle this year. It's the classic red cap restoration battery with the modern AGM guts. I am replacing my old battery which has reached 7 years of age and isn't holding the capacity it should. My old battery is also a sealed AGM battery bought in 2010. When I opened the box to the new battery, I found this warning inside. I kept my old battery on a tender any time the car was parked whether it was a short or long duration of time and as I said, it lasted me 7 years. So, what gives with this warning? Did something change? Should I stop using a tender? Is this warning bullshit?

Are Resto AGM available again? I'm wishing a 27 group one

What I heard was that the manufacturer was bought and the new company has not yet started production on the batteries. Everyone seems to have a 6-12 month back order response, except for the company I listed above. They told me they had 30 Group 27 batteries left and were taking them to Carlisle. After that, they would be in back order too.

Yes, manufacturer sent me an email looong time ago they should be available by end of spring this year ( May/June ), but spring is long gone now

Well, let me tell you a little story about Antique Auto Battery.
I purchased one from them, when I first purchased my 67, put it in right on the field at Carlisle in fact. I want to say 2006.
I read that same ridiculous warning and did NOT put it on a trickle-charger for 2 winters. By the end of the second winter the battery was dead. Not even 2 years in the car. Warranty??? Yuh, right! 
I called them and they told me to send it to them so they could check it and THEY would determine if it was under warranty. I replied "let me get this straight, you want me to ship this to you on MY dime? Only, so you can say, 'oh it is not covered'. Then I'm out a battery with nothing at all to replace it with! Not gonna happen."
I walked right out to the garage and put a trickle-charger on it. And not a good one, one of those cheap ones from Harbor Freight. What did I have to loose, the battery was no good anyway. After a couple days, it started and I drove it charge it more.
That battery lasted me to 2015. I put it on the cheap HF trickle-charger every winter.
I will never purchase from them again. I'll put a new Mopar battery in first.
Fast forward to the purchase of my 73 in 2010. I purchased an AGM from Turbo Start. Ordered over phone with them and picked up at the Syracuse Nationals. The fellow at their booth told me they recommend a 'Battery Tender' brand trickle-charger for the winter months - only. Bought it summer 2011 and it sat until the car was done the following summer. It is still in the car.
Now, 2 years ago when I went to replace my 67 battery, Turbo Start was no longer doing classic batteries. They told me they had sold off all their inventory to Mancini and Summit. I bought this current one from Summit.  However I see from the TS website they are still listed.  Summit too, but if you try to purchase one it says "out of stock". So I would call TS first.
Dan, I'm sorry I hadn't seen a post about your battery quest or I would have told you my story earlier. Good luck with it my friend.

Thanks for sharing the experiences ODZ. Well, like I said, my previous battery was AGM from someone else (I forget who) and I left it on a tender all of the time, whether a few weeks between uses or all winter and it lasted me 7 years. I want to take their warning with a grain of salt and keep doing things how I always have. I just figured I'd take the pulse of the crowd first.

The battery shouldn't have died especially disconnected in 2 winters.
