Maybe was when it was D-C.com and not DC.com?

What was the first year for the old website?  I didn't join until the 2011-12 time frame.
1969 Charger 383/auto
1969 Charger R/T 440/auto (waiting to be restored)

Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

Neat pic of the three green years in row.

I used to own "The Liz" before selling it to Kelly - he did a nice job restifying it. I'm so glad he ended up with it  :coolgleamA:

I'm pretty sure that pre-dates me. I was at the show in 2006 (the year after this site went live) and I believe it had been going for several years.

It does predate you Troy.

And let me publically thank you for rescuing the Dodge Charger web presence, and all the work and money you put into keeping us going!! :2thumbs:

Pretty sure it's older than that. I think I joined in 2002 when I bought my black 68 and it had been going strong for several years. That's how I got involved: the site crashed and the database was corrupted so Jesse was going to throw it all away and start over. I had my car in a million pieces and all the information I had about putting it back together was in the tech threads! He let me have access to fix the database (that's what I do for a living) and we didn't lose anything except the last day of threads/posts. I still have that copy of the database so I could actually just go an look to see when the first post was...

No 70 in 2006.

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

VegasCharger

Thanks Troy for all you do to keep this site up and running. :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

For all who complain about uploading pics in here, it's a small fraction compared of what Troy has to do to keep it going.

I'm a late late comer, March 2012. I was always into Mopars but from 2005 thru 2012 I went into a hiatus until I got back my craving for a 68, so that's when I joined.

Dino

I bought my previous Charger in I think 2004 so I was definitely on the site by then. Likely it was 2003. Went by Doc74 back then! Good times with a lot of good people, many that are off the site unfortunately.

I joined also in 2002. My first nickname was Venezuelan_RT74. Dunno how many member were by those days, but when the old website dissapeared I think had around 10K posts? Can't recall. Chryco_Psyco had around 2K when I joined I think. Sooo maybe by 2000 year ?

Dino, I think you joined before 2003! I remember you posting on one of my first threads there ( if not the first one ) when you asked me about having a 74 being an RT

I remember that! Yeah it must've been earlier. Man we're getting old!

April 18, 2001 is the earliest archive.org captured, but it was active a little before that - in the members rides area 'r s' posted on 3-9-2001.

Here's the front page:
http://web.archive.org/web/20010418191333/http://www.dodge-charger.com:80/
(archive.org banner at top, you can navigate other snapshot dates of the website with it)

I wasn't registered and logged in so I couldn't see beyond page 1 of the members list.  Any old timers still want to try to login?  Not sure if this is possible on these archived sites on archive.org.

Todd Wilson

I am on there so I guess that makes me an old timer! HAHA!

I logged in but I could not navigate to anything. I feel like a cyber archeologist digging through this stuff.

Same here, I try to log in & it takes me to the same auction site. The earliest I can find me on there is April 2, 2003. But it won't open any of the threads, so I can't tell how many posts I had by that date. Speaking of which, scroll to the bottom of the home page on that date & check out how many members had logged in within 24 hours...458! :o That was a lot of action going on.
I also noticed that back then, Ponch was going my "TheUltimateMoJo"...

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Troy

You guys may not want to log in! The http://web.archive.org web site is just a static record of the pages that existed. It IS NOT the forum!!! The links should take you to other pages on archive.org. If anything takes you to dodge-charger.com then you are going to a site run by whoever owns the domain now (according to Whois this is "DYNADOT, LLC"). The domain is "parked" right now which is probably why it's displaying ads.

Troy

That makes sense. Too bad it won't open up some of the threads...I'd like to revisit the "hot chicks" thread, for starters. ;D
