Looking to put a sure grip in my Charger and was just wondering with the different styles out there are and which one is the best to buy? Also who has the best deal on them. I am interested in Finding a complete third member with the gears that I want. I am thinking about 3:55 or 3:91 gears since the car is a 4-speed. Any thoughts and suggestions are  welcome.

I have an Eaton Truetrac in my Charger with 3.55 gears behind a 727 (with a 3000-3500 stall converter) and like it quite a lot.  Previous owner had a 4.10 in there, and for spirited street driving and occasional highway cruising, the 3.55s are my preference.

You'll find some threads on the Truetracs having issues, but I talked to Cass at Dr. Diff and he hasn't seen any of those problems in a number of years and thinks it was just a bad run of units.

There are other places as well, but http://www.doctordiff.com can build you a complete 3rd member.

I have an Eaton Truetrac with 3:73, from Dr Diff as well.  No issues, it hooks up great!  Running a 4spd, could use another gear at times.

The eaton True trac works great, but a lot of them make a clunking, knocking noise when slowing down & dont support the end of the axle, Eaton would not warranty mine, I took it apart & the side gears had .035 thou, slop between them & the carrier housing, I made some bushings to take up the slack, will be putting it in my friends 68 Road Runner.  Eaton can FO  :fu:

I Like the Detroit locker....strongest by far ! I run one of those in my Dana and it's very quiet.

With a 4spd the locker would be my choice.  :2thumbs:

Yukon clutch kind here! Since is a street car, no need for more. Got it with single spring plate by side instead double.

My diff is noisy not because the carrier but pinion and gear. Haven't being able to make it quiet
