Matco tools...guaranteed for a lifetime. Just not a human lifetime.

I have read on here several times 1. The bushings install opposite of the instructions. 2. 2005 mustang alignment specs or as close as possible if running radial tires.

It is hard to think of cars with that picture of sunshine peeking through that womans gap.

Anything in the positive caster side will be good. So 1-3 positive. Somewhere in the 0 to -1/2 degrees of camber. And 1/16 to a fat 1/8" for toe in.

Just had my car aligned and it ended up with +3 caster, 1/8" toe in and 1/4 degree neg camber. Car has never driven this nice.

With those upper bushings, I was able to get 4.5 degrees of POS caster, 1/2 degree of NEG camber and 1/8" toe in.

Here's a little drawing of the orientation you need.

I am getting these bushings installed too. Will pick them up tomorrow. Maybe it's obvious when I see them, but what's the story about the installation instructions? I read on several places that people install them backwards to get it correct. Just curious, can anyone explain this more?

Per the diagram above.  The front bushing is installed per the instructions that come with the bushing.  The rear is installed opposite.  Like someone has already said the idea is to push the ball joint on the UCA towards the rear of the car (which the diagram shows.)  This increases the ability to get positive castor (google positive castor if you need more info on why.)

This can be tricky, but once you see whats going on and how the offset bushings look you'll have a better idea.  Be aware that these bushings where originally designed to correct problems with "CAMBER".  Then someone saw that they can also be used to get extra "CASTOR".  So the instructions that come with them are for the CAMBER problem.

Also be aware that installing the rear bushing per the diagram (not the box instructions) can cause the edge of the UCA to hit the metal of the shock tower and you may have to grind a little metal off of the UCA to get full adjust ability and range of motion of the control arm.  Just make sure that whoever installs the bushing tests the movement of the UCA when installed and with the adjustment cam turned so it pushes the bushing all the way towards the engine.
