I have made some improvements to my 400 4V to wake the engine up some but need to open up the exhaust for the engine to breath.

MY problem is the right Magnaflow manifold to X-Pipe connection pipe (do not want headers) is pointed WAY OFF to the left when bolted to the manifold.  I'm thinking true duals were only available on the high performance 400 4v and that a different right side manifold was used with a different angle on the flange mating surface.

Can anyone confirm that and if so do you have a work around short of cutting the Magnaflow pipe and rewelding the flange angle?

Even amongst the HP engined cars, manifold flanges to the pipe can differ by years and body. It's also true that on some big block std-engined cars of various years and bodies, that one side is the same HP manifold as an HP car, but the other manifold is a standard performance exhaust.

Thanks Mike.  I was pretty sure that was the case.  In fact, I have one of those mixed up ones.  The flange on the lett side bolts up to the Magnaflows perfect but the right side bolt spread is closer together and the angle is way off.  I talked with their tech folks and they said I might be able to cut the flange off and weld back in correct position.  Might have to do that if I can't locate the correct manifold...
