New Australian Police Car

Looks like the Aussies might be getting the 300 SRT as the new police car, replacing the Commodore and the Falcon:

For the record, not even cops in the US get the 6.4.  They're stuck with the 5.7 awd at the most, from Dodge.

I also read another article that states you'll be getting the next gen Camaro as well.  Might be over there by 2020.

Why though??? Most of our cops run around in 2 litre diesel saloons with only the motorway police using 3 litre petrol cars...usually German. How many car chases are there really?....not that many would be my guess....real life is not like the movies!! The diesels will do about 120 and the petrol's over 150mpg. How much faster do you really need? You cant realistically go much faster on the public road no matter how skilled you are behind the wheel. Just to many old/slow members the public to risk it!!!

Really? I don't think so. As a cop said to me when I was looking at his diesel VW Passat......you don't need a faster car...."No car travels faster than  radio waves". They just radio ahead and get the road blocked further ahead.

ever thought that the cops over here are petrol heads to and LIKE to chase people  
that and any cop chase show  I've seen that has a cop chase from over there in pommy land has a cop in a  panda chasing some punk on a pushbike
