Hey guys I wondering if someone can help me with what I am trying to accomplish.
I have a 383 with factory air. I would like to put a rpm intake on the engine. But will this be possible with the factory
Air on the car. I see there's a couple of brackets that connect to the factory intake now. Does anyone know if
If this is possible. Also planting on a quick fuel 750 Black diamond. Yes it's for the street motor has a mild cam in it now
Anyway any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

I believe that the factory intake manifold already has an indentation on the #3 intake runner to clear one of the AC brackets, so I would suspect that that bracket might need to be modified for an RPM intake.

I am running the rpm with factory air on a 70, 383 as well  I don't know how different the compressor is on other years, depending on what you have.   You will have to modify the bracket to the intake or make a new one, as mentioned above.  I just welded tabs on each end.   I will take a pic for you.

Thanks so much guys. I appreciate the help. Getting one bracket made won't be hard

I've done this . If I remember right , the brace that goes to the coil mount goes away and the longer one that goes to the intake bolt needs a notch ground into it.

Can I ask what the notch is for or I'll find out I'm sure when I come to it

The bracket must be a bit different on a 68, a notch would not do much on mine.  I won't have a pic for you until tomorrow.

My main concern was if it would work. And it seems like it will with no major issues
That's a big relief  :slap:

Sounds like you got the bracket made.  Here is my setup.  Sorry for the delay.

I see now. Yeah maybe it is different in 68 because I have those two brackets
But also another solid bracket that attatched to the back of the ac
Unit that bolted to the two front intake bolts. That's probably what the other guys meant
When they said they notched it.

Here they are a little late I know I have just been getting it dialed in these past few weeks
Running amazing now. Hardest part is not
Driving it everyday.
