My wife just upgraded out TV/ internet package about 3-4 months ago, and we now get Velocity.
So even though it has been on tv for years, I am new to this show.
I o not watch tv much, maybe Cops and Judge Judy once in a while, but I really enjoy Velocity and love the show Graveyard Cars.
It's great to watch the show and know exactly what Mark is talking about when he is spewing crazy numbers at ya, because only one of my buddies knows stuff like that, so when I do it no one cares or understands me. I have only caught maybe 8-10 shows but I am really enjoying it.

I also makes me wish I: A) had the cash to have them do my car.
OR                               B) Could work there and get paid to do that stuff,as I totally geek out on a lot of that stuff!!!

Anyway what do you guys think of this show?

(I know I am "late to the party" just finding out about the show, but that just means I can binge watch some seasons)

But I also learned a lot, I really have to watch some of the earlier shows, it seams as if the show has changed a lot to become the show it is now.

Lmao, yes it is a good read. and yes, the show has changed somewhat. i still watch it when i can. last night i watched the episode where they put the hellcat against the Daytona on the dyno. it wasn't for me. i just dont like how they show all that, but skimp over the install of the front window glass, or  other tech stuff like that. other than that its a mopar show

Some of the critics are just bitter, angry jerkoffs that would bitch about a free lunch or a naked lap dance from a sexy woman.
Yes, the show has  some moments that can be annoying or that make you cringe a  bit but overall, I enjoy the show.

Like I said I just discovered the show, and so far I enjoy it, the few shows I caught, I even watched them a second time when they came on in the early am and I couldn't sleep. I did pass on watching them a third time, 2 was enough.
It is entertaining, the point of most tv shows, and its kind of like MOPAR porn. I could even watch some of it with the sound off.
With Mark spewing Mopar facts all over I am sure I will pick up some cool knowledge.

I just caught the show that Mark and his buddy,Royal drove that old Dodge truck that there  friend used to own, the guy who sold Mark his high school Charger. That truck had the factory tool box in the pass side bed(early ram box LOL).
I guess maybe there friend is no longer alive, but they do not really get into it, maybe in another show. But alive or not its a nice tribute to there old pal.

I went to look up Mark Worman  on google just to learn a bit about him and google has that feature that types out what it thinks you are gonna write based on most popular searches, and when I got to Mark Wor.......
it finished it with Mark Worman 's Daughter.
I thought that was funny, tons of people must be looking her up!!!
Makes me think most of the emails/fan mail they get is for her not for him, or questions regarding his Mopar knowledge. Just mail asking for her phone number. I wonder how many calls they get each day of people asking to talk to her.

Anyway so far I enjoy it.
Most hot rod/car shows are always heavy with GM or Ford products and very little Mopar stuff on tv, so I will take it.

I really enjoy the show. I believe that Mark really knows his stuff and does great work. There are critics of the show, but I don't get caught up in all of that. He says that he builds them better then factory and I think he's right about that. Now there are things that they do that may be better than factory and not necessarily factory correct like black painted bottoms of the car vs. the primer/overspray, smooth perfect paintjobs vs. orange peel and runs. The way I look at it, he's building them ultimately for customers and has to build them to their requests. So if a guy wants the bottom blacked out or painted all body color, that's what they are being paid to do. I work at a hot rod shop and we do certain things on a build that we wouldn't necessarily do if it were our car, but its the owner's request and checkbook. As long as it doesn't present a safety issue, then we will do it.

See now I have a little different perspective about restoring cars to "How they came out of the factory". I understand the reason, but if some restored my car and purposely put stickers on crooked, smeared RTV on things, purposely put overspray on the plug wires (or anywhere else for that matter), I'd be pi$$ed. I understand that's how they came out of the factory, but why in the world would I want to replicate bad work ethic. So from the same standpoint, if my 1969 charger was known for having transmission issues, I should purposely build my transmission wrong so it is "like it came from the factory. I was young in those days, but when my Dad bought a new car back then, the first thing he did was complain about the sloppy work and try to clean it up.

As for Mark from Graveyard Cars,... I'm torn. LOVE to see a show that's all about our Mopars, but for a while, I just couldn't stand to listen to him, especially him fighting with Darren all the time. Now that Darren is gone, it isn't as bad. He still tries WAY to hard to be "Goofy", but I can tolerate that. I know he's trying to be funny for the show, but sometimes he just comes across as an arrogant a$$. Don't get me wrong, I have full respect for his level of Mopar knowledge,.... Just get tired of his attitude sometimes

I love the show. A lot of what people bitch about are....TV drama. Comes with people being new to TV and trying to meet what producers want. Watch West Coast Customs and you'll see ZERO of that because I am sure Ryan does things HIS way. Other is because people who have no fame... no skill... no money to do what Worman does have nothing better to than bitch. It never was meant to be an instructional series, it is entertainment. Just like some people really like watching Oprah! LOL. I bet Mark Worman is a freaking hoot in real life.

I completely agree. The rear end paint on mine was original when I got her...not now as I'm in a restomod, protour, street racer type build! But there where huge runs down the inside of the trunk, curtain type runs inside the trunk lid and next to no paint at all behind the lights. If I was doing the Day One resto i certainly would not be replicating that. In fact I would go as far as saying that no one on this forum has done a true factory finish resto.....most of you guys are too good to turn out work that crap. Lol! Even the best, show winning Charger restoration is not much like the way Dodge made them imo...they are way better! So in reality they are not a true restoration...but that's fine if it makes the builder happy. Just don't go telling me you built it like the day it left the factory...you didn't!...hopefully.

In 35 years when all the cars have been restored, People will be like, wow these cars were so F N sweet when new!!! Dodge made great stuff.
They will not have a clue of how they were really built LOL.
I guess that's why we need to keep as many SURVIVORS around as we can, cause as the cars get older, the people that built them, pass on and are no longer here to tell or show us how they really were.

Here's an example of what I was talking about. The guy who started the body work on mine (then bailed on me) said when it comes to putting the sealant on the seams, he has his 7 year old son finger paint it on so it looks like it did when it came out of the factory. I told him he better not do that on mine and that I wanted to see it before paint went on.

at Brad.... Hadn't thought about it from that perspective with people thinking all these perfect restorations were how they actually came from the factory. Mine had beads of seam sealer 1 - 2 inches wide all through my trunk. No way I will be doing that on mine (When it finally gets to that point).

Yeah, maybe could spend a few more minutes each week on resto tips, or info on how certain things were done from the factory, and a bit less time on what hat America sent Will, or Will's magic hat.
I do like some of the tomfoolery/shenanigans  but I have had enough of Will's magic hat crap.

I did a 73 Challenger that had the thick a$$ seam sealer where trunk and rear back seat pan meet was caked in there.

One thing I think we all are guilty of, that you hear about all the time, is the gaps are over restored.
No one wants $hatty gaps,in the fenders or doors.
From the org, untouched cars I have looked at over the years it always tends to be the hood never sits correctly, always high or low in one corner.
But after spending all the money and hard work and time, who wants to throw the fender on 1/2 ass like a you did it in 5 min and didn't care about the results.
Don't get me wrong the cars were made very well that's why they are still here at all 45 or so years later, and not every car had huge uneven panel fitment, but some are better then others.

I even had read articles where "pranksters" who worked in the factory, used to put coins or marbles behind inside panels,so when the car would hit bumps or go around corners it would make a noise and drive the owner owner and dealers crazy trying to figure it out.
I even saw one where it was a empty bottle of Canadian Club or wine, behind the door.(think it was in Mopar Collectors Guide)
Now I will put the factory marks back on my car when and where I find them, but if I found a empty pepsi can from some jokesters lunch 50 years ago, I may save it for a good story(or return it for 5 cent deposit!LOL)but back behind the door it will not be going.

I totally understand where you are coming from.
I take what I can get, so because I just discovered the show, I can stomach the bad, because of the good.
But I can totally see people getting sick of the crap.
At the end of the day we tune in to see cool Mopars come back from the dead, not for comedy, we can go watch Dave Chapelle , or "insert your favorite comedian here", if we wanted to laugh.

I think a LOT of people think and feel like ACUDANUT, when it comes to this show.

I am not sticking up for him, as I do not care if people like him or not, but I think it's all an "ACT" for the cameras.

I am sure he is a bit of a goof ball in real life, but so much of his shtick seams  disingenuous. Not from the heart
That maybe his issue, trying so hard to be the funny guy, trying to get everyone to like him, and to be the center of the attention.
He def seams to have his numbers and weird little Mopar facts down.
That is prob why he tries so hard, too many lonely nights and weekends spent memorizing Mopar books and facts, production numbers, engine/color combos and not enough time hanging with actual real people.

I still enjoy watching the show, I do not have a Mark Worman poster on my bedroom wall, but kinda like the saying  Mopar or nocar, well Mo-show is better then No-show.
I will take what I can get when it comes to Mopar tv shows, and the chance to learn something I don't know, or just veg out and watch Mopar porn dance across the screen.

BTW: Worman has some Balls to claim on national TV he coined the phrase Mopar, or nocar.  I mean COME ON!!!!!!!                            (everyone knows that was me LOL) JUST KIDDING
