Just figured out I have the wrong radiator

I have a '69 with a 440 and the 22" radiator. I've been struggling for years with keeping it cool in hot weather, so I decided to get the Jaguar clutch fan. Long story short is that I can't get everything to line up. It never has been quite right, but somehow I made it work. Today I found out the correct part number is 2949 053. Well, I have a 2898 031 which is a small block A body part. I think I'd like to try one of the aftermarket aluminum radiators. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
