I was wondering if someone could help me out with a couple of questions that I have regarding a new 1968 Charger RT project that I started / inherited.  After getting into the project a little more, I am now wondering if the rearend / third member has been replaced at some point.

#1 - Please see attached photo.  I know that the 2070741 indicates a 1-3/8" small stem pinion (aka. '741') what I am pretty sure did not come in a RT?  Could someone help me out with reading the date code of 6R23?  Or, shed some light on the meaning of the other markings 25, etc.

#2 - Please see attached photo.  I am trying to identify if the brackets in the second picture are stock, or what they are used for.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can give!

Can't help with the number codes but those brackets hanging down are sometimes referred to gas tank skids (  :shruggy:  ).  The tail pipe tip hangers also attach to them.  They belong there.

The rear end in my '69 SuperBee is out of a '66 Charger. I know, as I was there removing it and reinstalling it in 1978!

Ring gear is stamped 294 11 65.
Sure grip housing is stamped 12 07 65
Pumpkin cast date code 5L26

This would lead me to believe your assembly is out of a '67 model year car, or a late build '66.
