so i dont have a air filter installed over my carb,,my question is....does that affect the performance of the car and how the engine performs??

It will if something big falls in there!   :lol:  Over time, excessive dirt and dist may impact the cylinder walls and ring seal.  You should run a air cleaner and filter.   :Twocents:
