Hey guys.

So the problem I'm having is my drivers door won't shut
Just started out of the blue. Went to shut the door and it didn't latch
If tried turning the gear by hand to see if it makes a difference
But it doesn't. I just don't want to have to take the door apart if
I don't have to. I can't really find any diagrams in my manual
Or any other website About how these old door mechanisms
Are suppose to engage.

What do you think?
Life's to short to keep them original

Lennard.. How DARE you make fun of a guy that tries to get help for his condition???   :nana:

Lube the latch, Lube the latch!
WD40. PB Blaster. Any spray lubricant, even silicone spray. I'd try that first. After that, you might need a replacement latch. The door panel has to come off for that but lucky for you, these are very common. ALL B body cars used the same one from 1966-1970. I don't know if they are being reproduced but used ones are easy to find. Some companies even rebuild them!
Good luck with the turds, if that still occurs.   :eek2:
