Well, as some of you read a while back, my '73 was stolen and fortunately recovered. However, after tearing the engine down it is in fact toast due to how the kid drove it after the fresh rebuild. With that said, I am going to do a complete overhaul - again. This time around I would love for some advice from all of you. I have done some reading and am leaning strongly towards fuel injecting it with the fitech system.

- Any thoughts on what heads to go with? I have my old 915s, but I am ready to transition over to some aluminum heads. What would be your go tos?

- Has anyone seen a 3rd gen gas tank with an in-tank pump? I saw that tanksinc is making them for the 2nd gens...

- Any other recommendations regarding components in the build are welcomed

- Any advice regarding known obstacles when installing fitech or major issues also welcomed - again I will be self-educating myself via other posts, but as always a majority of the learning is hands-on.

I installed a Fitech on a dual TB 572 Hemi. I used a stock tank and added an intank pump to it. It's a great way to go and I would never consider buying a new carb again. Just for the ease of starting hot or cold let alone the ease of tuning, better fuel economy and no cylinder fuel wash. I would however consider the latest Holley system. My son installed one on his 440 and it works great as well, I would expect Holley parts would be easier to pick up at any Hot Rod shop in the future. Port injection would be much better but the TBI's are still much better than a carb I believe.

Good points, the holley sniper has also peaked my interest...

I was in the market for a Sniper as well, but look them up on Youtube. Apparently these things make a bit of a racket under the hood.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I have seen the video with the clicking noise, it seems the guy has had several problems with it... Perhaps user error? Are there other documentations of noise issues that I overlooked? It doesn't seem to be a noticeable trend in reviews.

I put Sidewinder heads on my 440.   I had them bowl blended before they shipped them to me.  Call Todd Marsh, he can do any machine work you would like and set the heads up with springs to match your cam.  Link below with his phone number.     :2thumbs:    :2thumbs:

Forgot to mention, I put FiTech on this 440 with a Lunati Part # 10230703 Grind #VDBCR-271 cam on the advice of Ron (Firefighter) but I haven't fired it up yet.

Thats a good looking bay! Haven't done much research on sidewinders, I'll have to look into that!

I'm highly considering going with this top end kit right now. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tfs-k616-620-576

Seems to be a well put together combo and the trickflow 240 heads seem to be highly revered

Did you get to kick the little prick in the nuts.

If this is a question, I don't see the point of it.... :shruggy:
