Well I guess they must, when I'm ready to assemble my '72 again should I just pop the originals back on or replace them with new?

I would just use the old ones again
If you got shinny new one after closing the doors a couple of times the new one would have marks on them anyways

Sounds good Sublime, guess I'll just clean them up. I didn't remove them the body shop did-- is there a special tool to install and remove them?

Yes, they take a torx bit to install them. Not sure which size though.

I believe it is a T-50 Torx bit.
