Hi guys, just looking to find out what brake options were offered from the factory on a 69 charger, whether it was a base or RT or any of the models.

10" drums were standard, power 10" drums was optional, 11" power drums were optional, as was power disc brakes.  I'm not sure if there were exclusions, maybe someone else can chime in.

Mine came with manual brakes, 11" drums all around.

I'm assuming the 11" rears were the 2.5" wide pads? I read somewhere that the 11x2" was a C body thing. The reason I asked about brake options was because mine had drums all around, 11x3 up front with 10x2.5 rear. I've upgraded to 11" discs and was wanting to do 11" rear drums but I wanted to make sure it was a factory offered option first.

I believe the rears came with 10" x 2-1/2" drums if equipped with front discs.

Hmmm. If that's the case, I'm going to most likely leave my rear drums alone then. My car seems to stop quite a bit better than with the 11" drums in front. Currently I have the distribution block with the bult in valve for the rear lines and the attached metering valve. I saw that there is a tool that can hold the metering valve fully open. I was wondering how the brakes would perform with that open. I can feel it limiting the pressure when I get on the front brakes and I wonder if it would stop better without it. I'm sure it was designed for limiting the pressure when the cars came with the old technology tires. I'd assume it's a lot more difficult to lock them up with modern rubber. Thoughts?
