Hello Folks!

I bought this Throttle Linkage (Thanks to Mr. John_Kunkel for the suggestion)     http://www.ebay.de/itm/122379807670      (Hope this will fit)

Further I don't have all return springs from top to bottom.

So can you please provide a certain link from some webshop who has the correct springs?

Enclosed you will find two pictures.  One pic at side of carb and one at side of tranny.

So please can you give it a try and have a look into the pix and tell me what parts else I will need to be able to complete the installation...
Further I would really appreciate if someone could post some pictures of his installation with a holley 4160 carb as for my knowledge just the service manual drawings are not that informative enough!

here is the correct 73 setup



these springs uses to be sold in several places even in kits ( throttle and KD spring ). Year One is one of them... but Megaparts USA is cheaper ( on price item and shipping ). Some others too

And what do you think if you look at the lever positions on my tranny?

Are they adjusted lets say "good point to start at" or is this wrong...

I don't want to hit the road before this is at least set to an acceptable position....

For the linkage to work correctly you need the Holley 20-7 throttle lever extension.

I already have this as well as the compatible stud and stud nut....

@John: What do you think about my lever positions at side of my tranny?

Are they positioned "almost" correctly? Or are they far away from being fine positioned... Just asking as I don't want to destroy something....

The top lever (TP) should be full forward at idle and near full back at WOT.

Thanks for the explanations... and the explosions drawings.... but this is not 100% clear to me how to be installed...

So I would really ask you if someone can provide pictures from carb side and tranny side of your cars which would be a very great help for me to compare with my setup...

I have stock system with TQ carb BUT my car is totally dissasembled and is around 1500 km from home.

Also is a 74 which is a bit diff from the earliers

...Update....

Please have a look at the newly enclosed pictures...

The linkage is looking good so far (from my point of view).... It is aligned straight and it looks neat....

Please do not mention the missing springs but they will be installed soon...

The PROBLEM I have right now is if the linkage is installed it is not possible to turn the throttle lever of the carb to WOT.... and I do not understand at the moment where the error is...

Could the bracket be the problem which is mounted to the intake manifold?

The slotted hole with the bolt to the right in the pic should allow you to adjust the linkage so that the C-shaped link doesn't bottom on the rod.

I will have a second look....

Another thing which is supposed to be wrong might be the throttle lever spring inside the tranny....

Can you tell me guys if this is normal if...

... the throttle lever at tranny side is completely to the front (idle position) and I push it back towards WOT, the first 1,5 inch the lever moves WITHOUT resistance... After the mentioned 1,5 inches I can feel that the throttle lever spring inside the tranny is building up resistance the more I move the lever towards WOT....

So is this correct? Or do I need to feel immediately resistance coming up as soon as I move the throttle lever towards WOT?

There is no noticeable resistance to the initial lever movement when there is no pressure in the transmission (engine off), perfectly normal.

The good thing is now the Tranny is really shifting fine as it should....

The not so good thing is that the KD linkage bracket which is mounted onto the intake manifold is not correct for my setup... so I installed the old bracket which looks different.... With the old bracket I was able to adjust the KD linkage
correctly and straight......

Unfortunately I forgot to take some pictures... I will post them later as I really would like to read your opinions to be sure that everything what I did was done right...
