My base model 318 came equipeed with rt suspension, vinyl top, sail emblems and hood signals. I would have to pull my build sheet to see what all the options were again.

G15 tinted windshield was mandatory with A/C but G11 was optional.

If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure that tinted glass was recommended but not mandatory with A/C. (see attached .pdf excerpt from the '69 Dealer Data Book, and there are other document sources that confirm this)

Normally Sales Code G21 Clear Glass was never coded on the Broadcast Sheet if a car didn't have either G11 or G15... but if a car was equipped with A/C and NOT ordered with either tinted windshield or all-tinted glass, the Broadcast Sheet was to be coded with G21 ("Must Have") to show that it had no tinted windows at all.  AFAIK, that was the only instance where Sales Code G21 would have been used.  There was no "Must Have" tinted window qualifier for H51 Air Conditioning on the '69 Sales Code Manual that I noted anyway.

It was at least possible, anyway, to spec a car with A/C and no tinted glass.  Whether it happened very often is a totally different story.

Hood turn signals is not just for SE  Chargers.

Understood on that, but the hood signals were mandatory, or a part of the SE Group.

( part of the AO1 light package )

It's true that Sales Code A01 Light Group included Sales Code L31 Turn Indicators on '69 Plymouth A & B bodies, but A01 did not include L31 on the equivalent '69 Dodge models.

L31 was indeed part of the A47 Special Edition option package for '69 Chargers... just not as a result of the A01 Light Group's inclusion.  As already noted, L31 was available on non-SE 1969 models too (unlike leather insert seats, woodgrain dash & pedal dress-up options).

A '69 318 Charger should have Sales Code S13 shown on the Broadcast Sheet.  That indicated "Heavy Duty Suspension With Sway Bar".  Charger R/T's were coded with S15, which was the "Police Handling Package".  I will add that some 318 Chargers MAY have been coded with S15, only because there is a "Limited Option" qualifier thrown in there (ONLY for 318-powered B-bodies) just to muddy the waters.  I have no idea what it would have taken to "allow" S15 on a non-R/T.

Learned something new. Thanks!

It's a good thing all this stuff was written down somewhere - I'd NEVER remember it all.

I appreciate the education, and steering me away from a thief. I have gained many an interesting reply, found the same car for sale by different scammers and began to narrow my focus.   I also received the following e-mail:

    Hello RC:

Thanks for contacting me about the beautiful RT Charger you saw online.  We build Chargers!

Currently we have a black 69 RT Charger that we can complete in a month or less.  Generally speaking, we have Standard Chargers and R/T Chargers at any given time that can be built out in about 2-3 months. We consistently restore Chargers and have shells for 68s, 69s and 70s ready to be completed with engine, tranny and interiors to customer preferences.

Your Charger can be painted in any color you like. We offer black or tan interiors primarily. We also offer a "Dukes of Hazzard" General Lee Charger (complete with decals, multi tone Dixie horn, push bar and/or roll bar at no added cost).

The cars we build and deliver to customers have rebuilt engines & trannys, new paint, new interi or. The brakes & cooling systems are rebuilt or new, etc. See the list of new / rebuilt items below. Only the best parts are used.

Almost all cars sold have new quarters and trunk pans. The floors and fenders are replaced if there is any rust at all. We use no patch panels. Our bodies are extremely straight and doors and fenders have an excellent fit. Our cars do not have rust. The paint on our cars are color sanded and buffed for a mirror like finish. We use top grade Sherwin Williams Urethane paint and apply three coats and then three coats of clear for a deep luster and mirror - like finish.

Since we are a supplier / retailer for MOPAR parts, along with the fact that we have built hundreds of Chargers over the years, we can build a Charger at a reasonable price.
We build a very beautiful and very dependable car - one you can drive anywhere and enter in local shows and be proud to lift the hood. The Chargers are not "nut-and-bolt", frame-off, rotisserie restorat ions, but a nice driver quality car that owners will be proud to drive and show.

Our 383 Standard Charger currently sells for $49,999 and our 440 Standard Charger for $52,999. I can also offer you an R/T Charger* at $59,999. A deposit of $3000 for the 383 car, $4000 for the 440 Standard Charger and $5000 for an R/T Charger will reserve your Charger and set us in motion. There's often a waiting list, but we can usually complete a car within a month or two !

I can send you photos of a typical Charger restoration so that you can get an idea of the process if you are further interested and I'm always available to discuss building a car for you.
We often have other lesser-priced Chargers for sale on our website. Be sure to type in "charger" upper left of my site to see them all. Those listed at lower prices are for various reasons (usually they are projects, or trade-ins) and I am happy to provide additional information about any of them.

Please advise how I can make you another happy Charger owner!

    Thanks !

 :shruggy:  ahh RTSE please. :slap:

Assume a person likes the wood grain dash which I like, some don't I guess... other options are just that extra options on a car, so what is not to like.  Standard SE stuff like Leather seats, lighting group and most often AC are nice.  Sometimes, not always, an RTSE is basically at RT prices if patience and luck, but are not usually much of a bump up in cost like you might find with a Hemi car would be for example.  Really cool options on top of standard RTSE like V21 hood treatment, sunroof, disc brakes, PW, cruz, FM, 6way seats, rear window defogger, etc all can add up to a high neat option car.  But maybe I am biased...a little :popcrn:.  On the other hand....a great solid good RT these days might be better than a rust bucket pig with lip stick RTSE not restored well at some dealer/flipper.

It's very clear that the Classic Car Guy is associated with Truemusclecars (which was formerly HLPAG). The shadiest Charger dealers on the net.
Take a look at some of the posts floating around this forum at the moment.
The same pictures of the same car at the same price are being used at the Classic Car Guy site and Truemusclecars site.
You don't have to be a private investigator to spot the links.
