So I fitted a new stereo today, enjoyed it for 5 mins then a power steering hose blew.  Fluid everywhere.  Is this a normal thing to happen?

Should I fit a new hose and just try it, or does it indicate there is a further problem that needs looking at?

thanks

edit -- just to clarify the hose didn't come off, it actually blew a hole/gash in the middle of the hose.

Inspect the area of the hose where the failure occured, it's not uncommon to find that area has come in contact with the exhaust manifold due to improper routing of the hose.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Hi, it wasnt near the exhaust manifold.  I still have no idea why it blew, but I fitted a new one today and all seems to be fine.
