Front leaf spring mount removal question on 68' Charger

So, how do I remove the front leaf spring mount without opening up the rocker on my 68' Charger? I am replacing them due to rust. Thanks!!

Why do you need to open the rocker... 4 nuts. Heat them first.. or snap them off and buy a new stud / nut kit.

Not the leaf spring hanger. The leaf spring hanger mount that is welded to the frame and rocker. What the hanger attaches to.

Drill, chisel, pull with vice grips, chisel some more...
Sometimes you have to sacrifice nice stuff to get at the rotten stuff.

Clean the flange where they attach with a wire cup brush, or radial wheel on a 4" grinder.  You should be able to see the spot welds if you can get it clean enough.  Drill them out, and pry, chisel, etc like KD said.

The leaf spring mount is unacceptably rusty, but the rockers aren't?

Just surface rust on the rockers. I am completely replacing the frame rails with rust free OEM units, that happen to have the front mounts still welded on. Figured I might as well change them.

I'll take a closer look and see if I can see the spot welds. I wasn't sure if they were done from inside the rocker or not from the factory.

Yup, that's it. Now to remove them without damaging the rocker panel...
