hi eveyone!  i have a 69 charger with a 8 3/4 489 rearend 4.10 detroit locker.  my question is,  i wanted to buy new axels but randys ring and pinion and west coast diff. list E and C or A body or something. but no B body listing.  so dont  B & E body have the same dimensions?  & are yukon axels any good? or does anyone have any good recommandations?  need some stong axels.

RD

B & E body axles are different lengths.  I know moser engineering ( www.moserengineering.com) sells them, as well as summitracing ( www.summitracing.com ) which sells moser axles.

8 3/4" axle shaft lengths measured from the tip of the splined end
to the outside of the flange:
B BODY
'68-'70= 29 3/16"

E BODY
'70-'74= 29 31/32"

Dr. Diff carries the dutchman line of street/strip axles. I had him build me a dana 60 and he does outstanding work and his prices are excellent.

i forgot to ask.....
are stock axles pretty strong? how much can they take? and do they work with green berings?

Chryco Psycho

if you use green brgs you need to either shorten the axles or remove the spacer in the center of the gear set
the stock axles will take some abuse but if you really hook up with some power they will be finished in 1 pass like mine were
I use Mark williams axles , they are awesome
other options include Strange , moser , etc
