This charger has been on CL for months. I have $15,000 saved up to spend on a charger but I feel like that would be a low offer. I think $20,000 is closer to what it is worth. This is pretty close to what I'm looking for. Original a/c car with all the a/c stuff still on it, big block, and rust free. Minus the front end damage it looks like a pretty good car. I know it's been painted a different color but it's still somewhat original. (Not all hacked up)

Am I thinking right or is $20,000 too much/too little?  :shruggy:
I need some opinions here. Thanks!

They are sure in heck not going to get $32k for it!! $15k sounds right to me.

At least $8k to fix and it isn't a $40k car finished. I think the guy priced out 69 Charger grilles and then listed it for sale.

If you should happen to get it, I have OEM front frame rails and inner fenders.

Good luck.

The add says no damage to frame.... but who knows. It's not a very descriptive add.

Seller is a clueless jerkoff.

Either that, or he's a well informed seasoned craigslist seller, anticipating the fact that a typical craigslist buyer's first standard operating procedure is to offer half the asking price.

alfaitalia

He would need to pay me to drive a car with that colour interior....  :eek2:

Front end repair becomes a repaint, repaint finds additional bondo and rust, becomes a teardown, aaaaaannnnndd suddenly you've put another $30k in to it.

Sublime/Sixpack

If you like the color combination, and the owner is accepting offers go ahead and make your offer. But considering everything I think $15K is too high.

Tell the guy,

"Look man, with all due respect . . . it used to be a great car.  It will be a great car again.  But right now, that great car is not what you're offering.

I want to pay you good money and fix this thing.  But you're basically asking for what it was worth BEFORE the wreck."

That looks pretty mean like that. Reminds me of the 70 Chevelle in Jack Reacher.

My idea is to make a General Lee out of it. I think it would be perfect for that. At least it won't be that awful color it is now.  :eek2:

That car will need lots of parts and lots of work to bring it back to its former glory. I'm seeing 10 to 15k at least for parts and work.

Realistically that car is way over priced as it sets.

5K since it is green on green. :eek2:

marshallfry01

I think anything under 10k is too cheap.... besides the front end damage it looks like a good car. Solid, complete, driving, etc. It just has a shitty color. The valence covers are not smoothed over and it looks like original metal. It would beat the hell out of buying a rust bucket IMO. I'm kinda worried about that trunk though... looks like it could possibly have rust underneath that mat.  :scratchchin:

alfaitalia

I would have snapped that up for $20k (about £16400 UK)...over here in the UK...and rebuilt and painted it another color fast! Would be a very cheap Charger here! I could sort the fenders and get a new hood, grille and bumper...the rest I could "restore"! ....and because of my definition of the word "restore" and my tight budget and near non existent UK parts supply (particularly for body parts) is the reason you guys (and galls) won't be seeing mine until she's near complete...lol!

To you limeys commenting on green chargers, Our green tanks, jeeps etc. are the only reason you aren't speaking German today.

alfaitalia

Lol....it's funny really as British Racing Green is our nation's racing colour. But green road cars have never really been popular over here.....and there are so many nicer colors...lots of US members on here don't like then either. By and large road cars do not need to be paint olive green for camouflage purposes! "the only reason we are not soaking German"???????Political posts are not allowed on here but I well just say that you guys only rocked up when WW2 was nearly over and even then only when you felt financially threatened...as usual.....we can look after ourselves quite fine thank you......and we leave it there. :2thumbs:

Back on topic please.

What kind of bullshit is this? Calling a guy a Limey is about as polite as using one of the many Negro slurs that get spoken when a bolt refuses to budge.
Why the rude comments toward the English people ?

alfaitalia

To be fair to him Limey is not that offensive...just refers to when our sailors ate Limes (and lemons) to fend off skurvy . I never gave or a second thought....water off a ducks back!......But thanks!

Guess I better stay out of this one.......that's another one I don't want to get banned for! Us opinionated Limey, Brit, Pommy types eh...what are we like?

What is it with certain members bringing up WW2 completely out of nowhere on this forum?
What in the world does that have to do with Chargers? Imagine what it would be like if the same offenders did that in their day to day lives.

Plus you wouldn't have to fix anything. Just slap some orange paint on it and take it to shows as is. Anyone can build a General Lee before the jump, but that one can represent after the jump.

But we know that if the excramental solids hit the air conditioning unit they would be with us shoulder to shoulder. We were right behind them after there recent terrorist attacks.
