68 RT rear wheel size

Can anyone confirm the maximum size of wheels and rear tires for a 68?
Ive heard 10x15 will work. Im thinking Rallye.
Whats the max tire size before mini tubs?

 10x15  wheel with 5.5 back space , & a 295 x50 tire ...  some guys say just a 5 inch back space will do  ,  some say they have fitted a larger tire ...  I spent hours / days with one of these percys wheel rite thingys  on my 69 , while I was not  after  the widest tire set up on the rear , I done some investigating  , on mine a 295 on a 10 x 15 wheel with a 5 & a half inch back space would clear the best  , ( still have original rear quarters on mine ),  still tight though imo ,  best to measure both sides  & no two cars are the same , one wheel / tire will be closer to the wheel well lip , ( luckly mine was  the same well slightly different , but not worth mentioning ) , ( thanks to factory production tolerances or lack of ) also factor in , if your car has had repop rear quarters , some have a wider than stock wheel well lip & not all body guys trim it to OEM widths ,  you also need to factor in  suspension compression & you really want the tire / tire side wall inside the wheel well lip  IMO & enough gap so under certain driving conditions / situations there is no chance of the side wall  getting sliced .  same goes for the front  , need to check  at all steering angles & maximum suspension compression , that nothing rubs catches etc

Im going with 295s.

I went with 295s on a 9.5" rim with 5.75" backspace and I needed to add a 3/8" spacer to get a reasonable amount of clearance from the spring, so 5.5" is about perfect.

Backspacing will make all the difference.

I have Weld ProStar 15x10 with 5.5" bs and was able to fit 30x12's (305x63) on with minor rubbing.  I added a 1/2" spacer and it still rubbed on driveways and turning while hitting a bump.  I recently switched to 28x12's (304x54) and have plenty of clearance with no rubbing and no spacers.  Your 295's will easily fit.
