Well, I have spent many hours cutting, grinding, drilling, and swearing at my trunk pan.  I am almost there, but could use a little advice removing the bumper supports.  I have marked where I can see the welds I have to cut/drill, but before I start drilling into the rear valance I want to make sure I have them all. Am I missing any, are there 4 spot welds from the rear valance to the bumper support?  Also, any tips on cutting out the welds in the inside corner would be helpful.  Thanks.

There are also spot welds on each side of the mount hole on each ear of the support.  A cut-off wheel straight through the weld was how I got through the inside welds.  My trunk looks exactly like yours except I have the rear valence removed as well as the lower quarters, it makes installing the extensions so much easier.  Steve

Thanks Steve.  I will take a closer look in the morning.

Just curious, but when I weld the new pan in should the car be on frame stands, the wheels, or is it ok on the axle stands which it is on now?  I would say it is virtually like being on the wheels, right?

I did mine on jack stands under the axle and everything worked out fine

When you install the trunk I dont think it really matters if the car is supported by the axle or the frame rails, or if it is on the wheels, either way you have the same amount of weight on the frame rails. EVen with that said I would still just have the car on jack stands supporting the rear axle, or take the rear axle out and support it by the frame, wich is what I did. Gives you ALOT of room under there makes life much easier.  Hope this helps

Thanks guys.  Just concerned about the body twisting.  I will post pics of the pans once they are in - which wont be soon enough!
