LCA bushing installation

When you install a new rubber bushing on the LCA of a '73 Charger, do you first install the bushing, and then press in the pivot shaft?  Or do you first install the bushing onto the pivot shaft, and then press the whole assembly into the LCA.  I can't tell if there is adequate support on the inner metal sleeve if the bushing is installed onto the LCA first.  Of course, I can always go out and get different pieces of pipe to use as drivers if needed.  Just curious how everyone else does it.

Thanks

Curt

Bushing on shaft.. then assembly into LCA.

Check my 'Bee restoration thread, pretty sure I put pictures there..

Thanks.  I see you used a pipe to slip over the shaft.  That's probably what I'll end up doing.  Just curious if the bushing is fully seated in the LCA, does it support the inner collar during further pressing.

Not sure exactly what you are asking here.. or if the '73 is the same.

Bushing goes all the way in to the LCA socket. Shaft can't go any further into the inner bushing sleeve as the shaft is stepped.

Pipe to press assembly into LCA is the same diameter as the bushing flange.
