Is there a difference between the 8 3/4" rearend and the Dana 60 backing plates? I picked up a set of 11" x 2 1/2" rear drums and backing plates and wanted to know the differences if there is.

Thanks,

I do not know about 8 3/4 to Dana but I do know 8 3/4 is different 69 to 70 where the wheel cylinder goes on
One has a more square hole and one has a pointed oval hole

For any given year and brake size, the backing plates are the same for the Dana, the 8 1/4" and the 8 3/4".
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
