What was the original factory color for the sway bar mounts and end links?  The sway bar is from a 69 Charger.  I know the sway bar came originally natural steel colored with a thin black coating of something that when flexed, cracked and flaked off.  I have seen the end links a black oxide and a gold cadium sleeve with zinc cadium washers.  As for the mounts, I have seen them gloss black to natural steel color as well.  I am totally confused  ??? now as to which one is supposed to be correct?

I painted all of mine a satin black, but I don't think they came painted any color, but it would be satin if painted
from everything I have seen and heard.

Yes, the sway bar should be a cast gray color.
The end links should be black/gray phosphate plated along with the washers.
The repro links that come with all the aftemarket rebuild sets are incorrect for a correct resto. (uh... they're not right.) They are gold cad with a center sleeve that basically keeps the bushings separated. The correct ones have built in ribs, and do not need a sleeve.
The correct ones are available repro with all the correct hardware & bushings.

Bill, from who? thanks John

John, I just got my correct repro end links from Bill Alphin.  He has just the double threaded studs (exact repros of originals) or the entire end link kit complete with washers and bushings.  Since I just got new (and obvoiously incorrect) end links last year, I just got the studs as I repainted the washers the correct color and the rubber bushings are in new condition still.

Bill Alphins web site I think is www.AMHIGHTECHAUTO.COM.  Really good guy to deal with and knows a TON of stuff about Mopars.
