I suppose the best time to ask would have been before I traded my Porsche in on this and not after. Picking it up on Friday, just wondering if anyone has seen it in person?

Thanks!

Looks like a nice car. My first was very similar, with the exception of black top. And mine didn't have 8 track or rear defog.

Never seen multi colored seat belts on the same car like this one has on the rear seats.

Nice 68 BTW.

Are the sun visors suppose to be that dark color?

Why are there black seat belts in the back?

Is it matching numbers?

I like it, nice color combo. Could use some different wheels, but that's just me.

It really shows that somebody put some time, effort & money into that car.

Thanks for the input guys. It looked to me that someone put some care into the restoration, hopefully it looks as good in person.

Not sure why it has the extra belts in back, very odd.

VERY nicely done car!  Congratulations! It looks very nice the way it is but I like the factory mags (Magnums) in the two vintage pictures even better. I wonder which are original to it? I didn't look close at the build sheet posted, maybe it can be seen there.....

6bblgt

yes, it has rear shoulder belts - only available in black
single driver's side only headrest is another oddity

wheel covers on it originally - Road Wheels in the vintage picture are of the '69+ variety w/trim rings

6bblgt

looks like a very detail oriented restoration, but a May '68 Charger with the additional c-pillar "arrows"?  :shruggy:

shoulder belts, deep dish wheel covers, and chrome door lock stems are all late 68 items. C pillar arrow is an early 68 item. Trim ring Magnum's (Road Wheels) did not appear until 69. some mismatched interior parts (minor).

I don't think the  unsilenced aircleaner and the A/C go together (I may be wrong). My research says no pie tin on a 383 Hp in 68. (but I put one on mine).

No chrome exhaust tips in a 383 HP car (I have them on mine). Master cylinder reservoir is wrong.

But I would agree a nice restored car. Wonder if the engine matches? At least it is the right color.

Yea no pie tin. I went on a massive internet research to find out if it did receive one. Got too many conflicted answers. I'm putting a red "383 FOUR BARREL" one on mine. I got a repop one from C.I. but would love to find an original even if it has dings and chipped paint.

Nice...a little unnecessary perhaps. Just a little joke as I don't particularly like gold cars. It's a common enough phrase in the UK motor trade...you know British racing green, Italian racing red, German racing silver....etc etc. Looking at who you guys voted in for President I assumed all Americans had a MASSIVE sense of humour! Lol.

Jewish racing gold....Not sure I understand but I laughed at it. I can take a joke. I also get a big laugh seeing others get offended by jokes....Why get all pissy??? Too many people get offended nowadays. When society is too afraid to offend, they will be be too bland to entertain.
The radiator yoke needs the blackout. No biggie. Also, whats with that intertia ring at the front of the drive shaft? Is that a stock feature?
I've never heard of or seen rear shoulder belts in a Charger. That is some cool stuff.

Haha, well I can't get a permit for another garage which is probably a good thing. This is my first Mopar but the car is still nostalgic to me as my best friend had a 69 in high school that I spent a lot of time in.

I'm storing his 70 Roadrunner for the winter so seeing that every day was a bad influence leading up to this purchase

If it was perfect would you want to drive it? As it is now you gotta worry about getting a rock chip in paint on undercarriage since it's painted instead of undercoated. I wouldn't drive down any dirt roads with it. LEON.

MY 69 H code(383 4bbl) A/C Charger had the duel snorkel air cleaner on it org, not sure if it had a  pie tin. But I don't know if 68 and 69 were the same or different.

It looks so good it would be PITA to drive and keep it that nice. Good luck!!!!!

Drive it! It's a waste to park it. So it gets chipped, happens to your brand new car as well. Sucks but it's par for the course. I'd drive that car rain or shine.

Ok I'm sorry Mr Mod. Can you also ban members for having no sense of humour?..no?...pity. In case you don't know Mr CDR, taking the piss out of other nations and their leaders and more importantly OUR OWN is a national pastime here.....you ought to try it sometime.......might make you a bit less sensitive! And Mr Dog (loving your forum posts by the way)..she's called Theresa May...and a lot of folks HERE don't even know her yet...she's new. In fact she's with your new bloke right now at his request according to the news I just watched.....maybe he wanted meet someone who is an actual politician....oops now I've done it. Sorry Mr Mod...no more politics (not really politics though is it!.....its more satire unless I make a direct reference to your countries policies, rules and opinions.....gun laws, capital punishment that sort of stuff.... so you run your country as you want) and I will stay out of this thread...promise. I was fifty today and one of the USAs finest exports (69 Charger aside!) is lubricating my keyboard before I hit the sack (nearly midnight here) after a busy day which included a skydive...no joke..bloody freezing! And that export is the produce of Mr J Daniels! So no need to ban me or close this thread.....I'm just helping your countries economy!!!..... Night!
