Anything I Must Know Before Ordering Steering Wheel?

I know some like the skinny huge stock wheel.  I don't!  I am thinking about the attached 15" Mopar unit.  It says it will fit to the stock column.

Those of you that have shopped wheels or replaced yours...

Any others you think I should consider?

Any specs I should ensure are included in the one I order to ensure smooth install?

I just bought the leather version of the Grant Mopar Tuff wheel replica. I haven't tried to install it yet, so I'm not much help there, but I thought I remember that they come with a Mopar bolt pattern, but it only fits newer columns? Circa 70 and up?

I bought a year specific install kit just in case, but I suppose it might be possible to bolt it onto my 70 without it?

As long as you get the correct adapter you will be fine.

A 15" wheel is still pretty big...I've got a 14" Lecarra wheel on mine and love it.

Good point.  Was thinking 15 might be a stop gap from the little and the oversized.  Will go 14 - especially since I have power steering.

Is Grant the only manufacturer of wheel adapters for our cars? And if so, does the Grant adapter keep the horn function?

I've always wanted to install a Nardi steering wheel.

OK, to clarify what I already wrote, the Grant Tuff wheel will bolt to the factory rimblow/tuff wheel adapters, but not to the standard column, for this you'll need either the original adapter or one of theirs(my 1970 needs a Grant 3314). Yours, if 1969 or older, will use a different one. Both retain the horn function.

If you use a Grant adapter, instead of the mopar one, you'll need to bend your signal stalk back towards the dash a little bit, to clear the wheel. I prefer this method though, to get the wheel further away from me than factory.

The latest grant adapter kits are chinese crap.   I put the fake tough wheel on Betty years ago with a 3313 kit.  No problems.

Recently got another for Sinnamon and the website said to order a 4313 kit.    Put it all together and the horn blows like crazy. Initially I tried to shim the adapter but that was only a temporary short term solution. Another friend working on a customer's 69 had same problem.

I ended up finding a vintage 3313 adapter kit on ebay (ie: made in usa) .  Problem solved.    Never heard back if customer's car was resolved but I did forward an ebay listing for a vintage kit to him.

Come to find out awhile back that E-booger had same problem on bold beeper when he got a freebie wheel for a magazine article but he just disconnected the horn relay cuz he's a putz.

I also have the leather Grant wheel that I installed soon after I purchased mine. There's a cheaper version available without leather, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy the leather version again.
I needed the Grant 4313 install kit and I borrowed my friends steering wheel puller.
