Still looking for a 69 Charger after I sold my project. I decided I'd rather be driving one than putting one together. So my wife and I agreed to finance one that's already done.

Saw This one on eBay and wanted your guys thoughts. Also what it might be worth.

Nah!....looks quite quick and easy to get it on the road.....not everyone wants a concours show car. Should make a nice driver....pity its small block though IMO. Wonder what it will reach.

Check the bodywork and paint CLOSELY, might be ok if it doesn't go too high.  You can redo the rest over time.  The problem is, if one is willing to do that to the engine compartment and spray over the hood latch assy., where else did they cut corners.  The rear valance looks better than many on eBay.  Outer front edge of the passenger fender has a vertical ding (amd issue? or not repaired) and the front valance needs some tweaking.  It appears not too far for you to take a look.  Get a ballpark figure, if he will end it early.  :Twocents:

chargerboy69

I am in there with you, been looking for six months myself.  It has been difficult dealing with the really strong prices on second generation Chargers and they have seem to gone up 20 percent in the last couple years.

She could use a little TLC but doesnt look bad.  The small block sucks.

If paint is nice low to mid 20's. Put General Lee decals on her and she will bring $40 on E-Bay. I have seen it many times in the last few months.

It doesn't look bad in the pictures.  Trunk floor is good, the grille is good.  Paints good (in the picture.)  I had asked my wife about selling mine because I'm tired of working on it but she doesn't want me too.

Homerr

Looks very thrown together and just-get-it-out-the-door.  I would question everything about it down to check if the lugnuts are more than hand tight.

JR

Im not getting the impression here of a thrown together car, I get the impression that Jimmy decided to build a charger after owning ten Chevelles.

If the bodywork passes inspection in person,  I think its a good start

The body and paintwork is ths most time consuming part of a restoration. Replacing the tired chrome and interior of this car would be a breeze.

I would check this one out.

LOTS of stuff to do on this one, but I still think it was rushed out. Not all bad in itself, if it could be gotten at a decent price to finish.  Lots of weekend/evening projects that are easy enough.  But there are things that with very little effort wouldn't be a PITA for the next owner.

Here are a few warnings:

1. rear window trim poor install/missing, lower windshield trim too
2. painted over.... well, everything
3. valence not straightened
4. paint on top of heater hoses

This all makes me wonder if it is a bondo bucket with chicken wire and road sign patch panels.

cbrestorations

how lazy is the seller to not even just install the reflectors or back up lights and its missing trim. looks like a quicky paint job as they didnt even remove parts to paint, just blasted everything

Offblue

Well she "looks" worth it. Anything can be prettied up with a half decent paint job, if you been looking for a while i'm sure your knowledgeable in the common problem areas, bring a mild strength magnet for peace of mind, get under her and look for weld spots, this is vital. Remember to keep a mental note while your examining the car ... missing radio, mirror toggle, front fender signal lights, make sure the body work is smooth and lines straight, little problems add up to expensive ones.

As far as a plain jane driver goes it's looks as it should, and remember there's always haggle room. <---- (auction ops.)

No room to haggle in an auction.

Car looks OK but, if you think about all you are going to replace, engine etc... it gets up there quick.  $$$    :Twocents:

If the sheet metal and body work is indeed good, then that's a big hurdle. It looks like it could use a bunch of little details which is no big deal. You just have to be careful though, because you start by doing detail items and the next thing you know it's on a rotisserie...

Cncguy

I really appreciate the heads up from all you guys on the errors or work this Charger needs. When I'm looking at a Charger the main thing I look at is how good the bodywork looks in rear valance corner areas. Can't see that in these photos.

I can't seem to figure out what's going on with the trunk drain hole, to the left of filler neck.

70 sublime

Red flag on the back window trim for me

I bet it looks poor because it does not fit
If there was work done and welding and bondo down in the corner area and did not test fit the chrome before paint it will not be a simple find the right part fix

Bad B-rad

I think it looks good enough to check it out in person if your close enough and this is the car you may want. And price is right.
Does it look thrown together maybe shortcut? (to me)

Yeah ,but it  still may be something you can work with. Do you want a Charger, or a General Lee clone?

The seller sounds like a real winner. I wonder if he would feel the same way about someone getting a "loan" to buy it?

Lots of criticism here for a vehicle that is loads better than most of the remains of chargers selling for getting on for twice that amount almost every day on the 'bay. I would have been absolutely delighted to find anything with actual bodywork you can't see through for twice that money in the UK....you guys don't know how lucky you are and how (relatively) cheap Chargers are over there compared to here.

It's certainly going to be cheaper to sort that one than a rusty completely unrestored "barn find" for not a lot less cash. Just my two pence worth!

All true, but still it's going to sell for more than I would be willing to spend on one. And the seller seems to be a tool, and I rather not deal with those. I hear you though, I was born and raised in Belgium and you pay a ton more for a car like this on that side of the pond.

I still think everyones being a little harsh here.

IF the bodywork passes inspection in person, i dont think its that bad.

There are no more turn key mint condition 2nd gens around for 15k anymore.

The tired chrome/cosmetics/overspray on the latches are all easy fixes.

I still say i would check it out if i were in the market. Not everyone is after a creampuff thats too nice to drive.

True, this isn't finished. If you are really looking for "finished" I'm thinking $35k up, depending on how finished you want it.
