Battery cable gauge

I just received a battery cable that I bought and it looks like the primary red wire is 6 gauge and might be smaller than the one I have on there now. (The car is in storage so I can't compare at the moment). Does anybody know the correct gauge size for the main red wire?

Do you mean the red wire that goes from the battery to the starter or the one that goes to the starter relay?
