Has anyone here swapped in a 6 speed? It seems like there is alot of tunnel modification and very expensive uam not sure it worth 6k just on parts.

I installed a T56 6-speed out of a wreaked 2004 Viper. I put it behind a 440 in a 69 charger. It does require a lot of cutting and welding on the tunnel and crossmember. $6,000 for a trans swap sounds really high.
Major parts prices for my swap:

Trans-1,500 (15K miles on the trans)
Quick Time bell housing- $550
Cross member $300
McLeod clutch $300
440 Source flywheel $100
Drive Shaft (made locally) $400

I used the factory viper clutch master and slave cylinders to keep costs down.

Check out this build thread it answered most of my questions.

I'm going to be hacking up my floor next time I'm back in CA - I have a Viper T-56 and a bellhousing just sitting and waiting to go in place of my 5-speed....     I already made a tunnel for the 5-speed so I am curious if the T-56 will fit. Otherwise I can use the same fluwheel, clutch, pressure plate, and hydraulic clutch set up ---

I scored the bellhousing for $250 and the T-56 for $400 about 8 years ago.
