Questions for new Challenger owners

I have spent some time looking at available newer (2016,2017) Dodge Challengers. I have yet to see anywhere reference to an available limited slip rear differential. I do see reference to traction control. Does traction control take the place of limited slip? How does traction control work? If I were to get a Challenger (V6) and put winter tires on it and drove it in the snow would I get stuck because of the lack of a limited slip differential?
What is everyone's opinion about the soon to be available AWD Challenger?

Wife's got her mind set on a slim green AWD, if they'd hurry up and get them on dealers lots before her Trailblazer dies. She almost went with a Ford Fusion Platinum AWD and then some smart minded Mopar guy pointed out a green Challenger on a car carrier going down the 401 just before Christmas... and she's willing to wait for one.

Traction control basically works via the ABS system. Any wheel that's spinning faster than the others gets a few pulses from the brakes. It actually works very well (most of the time). I have driven other new cars in the snow - but not a Challenger - and not had a problem. I see a bunch of new ones on the road in the snow (not OFF the road) so I assume it does ok.

If there were a limited slip option I'm fairly sure it wouldn't be available on a V6 model. Chrysler calls it "anti spin" now:

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Another odd thing is that the Anti-Spin LSD is NOT available on an automatic equipped5.7  V8 R/T like the 2015 we ordered. The manual shift R/Ts got it, no automatic did/ The Scat Pack 6.4 auto got the LSD.
The traction control does work but feels odd doing it. The car wants to rock a bit side to side, slide a bit but it prevents a one wheel burnout. The first year 2008 Challenger did not have a LSD, those cars were all 6.1 SRT models and also all automatics!

I was looking at a Magnum AWD a while back and one of the Chrysler mechanics on here told me that the AWD isn't really any better than 2WD with traction control in snow that isn't terribly deep. I don't remember where you live but it might be something to think about. Plus it's less to go wrong.

3000 feet from the edge of Georgian Bay / Lake Huron on the cloud catching top of the escarpment... and we have a 1200 foot laneway. We've always both had 4 wheel drive trucks, but she wants something a bit sport'ier and still the ablity to get in the laneway if I haven't plowed. If it's too bad she can take my truck..

Thinking slim green.. or what is it now" Go Green?... and then getting a graphics shop to add the much needed hockey stripe on the side.

I have a friend who moved to Chicago and his only vehicle is a 2015 Mustang V6. If you've ever driven an older Mustang in the snow you can guess what I told him! He's been there 2 years and not had a problem. He has a garage right off the street though and I doubt if he's ever tried driving in unplowed snow. Unlike my experiences, the new one seems fine.

All depends on what you want to do and how you want to do it.. I drove my 1990 T Bird Super Coupe for almost 10 years in this climate, with a pair of Mud and Snows on the back and some days I'd get two employees to hold the back quarters so I could go straight when leaving our plant parking lot!  Older now... we just want to get there in a straight line!
