It's a weird car - in that its pretty rare to be a six pack 999 Bird, but if you look at the options (visually) - no front spoiler, pie plate wheels, no chrome exhaust tips.   Whatever dealer ordered this - SUCKED - at equipping a vehicle.   It's like their zone rep said, "you've got to take one" and the dealer tried to order as cheap as he possibly could.

Haven't checked the build sheet, but the dealer may have just gotten it as a sales bank car as equipped.    Wouldn't a California equipped car have turn downs?     The wheels would get a set of mags on day 2 anyway.     Spoiler was dealer installed.   Any number of reasons why it isn't present.

Yes.  Also if it is a California car it should have the vapor recovery tower in the trunk, but they didn't include a pic of the trunk.

If Chrysler would have done it right they would have made 43 ( very close! ) Petty blue Superbirds.
They ALL should have had HEMI's and #43 decal sets for the doors included like the 70's street kit cars.
So with the way it is this Six Barrel 4 speed is at the top of the pyramid for Petty Blue Superbirds!

Man, that is an awesome Bird...... Corporate Blue, white interior, bench seat, v-code, 4speed........ All the things I like in a Bird.. Would like tips, but to me, doesn't distract too much........

I think there are a lot of positives in that car.     I like it.

Sold new in Stockton Cal.  That explains the lack of exhaust tips.

other than the no-charge SUPERBIRD choices of 4-speed, "corporate blue" & white interior  :scratchchin: does the car have any extra cost OPTIONs besides the $119.05 440-6bbl engine?

"no-tips" on a '70 b-body in CA was a HEMI ONLY issue

"no-tips" on this SUPERBIRD is a no more money issue  :icon_smile_big:

& I'd bet the NO-radio is "RARER" on a Superbird than NO-tips (1970 Road Runner hardtop RM23 23,371 built; ~678 built w/o a factory installed radio)

999 paint, 440-6, 4 spd, white interior, bench seat.  Car is completely original.  I'm not at liberty to disclose the owner, but it is an incredible car!

The spoiler would ship in the trunk from the plant to the dealer.

Boots on the ground in Florida say, no sale @ $270k not meeting reserve.    Seller looking for over $300k.      Cub reporter says, "not as nice as the photos show".  Depending on your perspective, it is ready for restoration.

Apparently the world is not yet ready for a $300,000 wedge powered Superbird.

the petty car one VIN lower than mine was shipped new to OH, didn't have tips, and didn't get a credit on the window sticker.  No charge for the paint, either.

PettyMower

My very favorite....Petty Blue Superbird!  Interior colors and engine options, to me, are irrelevant.

Hopefully the owner will put a battery hold down on.....and quick!  Before something VERY bad happens. I've seen it, and it's not good!!!

"Petty Blue" wasn't an extra cost color on a Superbird - that's why there "should" be 50 of them to qualify as a fleet order with no extra charge for "SPECIAL ORDER PAINT"

N42 - chrome exhaust tips was a $20.80 OPTION on a Road Runner/Superbird hardtop (they were included with the $841.05 E74 HEMI engine),
less than 25% of the 23,000+ Road Runner hardtops had tips - is the percentage significantly higher on a Superbird?

I've never heard about 'free' fleet paint...like, if the forest service ordered 50 trucks in green they didn't charge them?  Is that how the bengal chargers came?  I could be wrong thought there was an upcharge there.

There was a memo sent around to dealers (it's on the winged warriors site) that stipulates that the list price for Corporation Blue was $69.50.  There is no mention of the color on any of the window stickers I've seen--just "7D19" at the top.

I don't remember many 'birds with tips on the window sticker--if the take rate was so low were *that* many sets added day 2?

6bblgt

Yes, that's how the Bengal Chargers worked & the '69 Omaha orange, rallye green, Bahama yellow Road Runners - QUANTITY

The  $69.50 would've been charged "if" the quantity was less than 50, someone probably knew the specifics/detail & stated "just build 50 of them!"

tips added at first need for exhaust, first restoration  :2thumbs: everyone wants exhaust tips  :coolgleamA:

boss429kiwi

No factory exhaust tips on my 6pk 4sp bird, even after restoration  :icon_smile_cool:

Mine is a sales bank car, as is the one before mine, as is the first one, etc.  Unless that someone was Chrysler this can't work, and even then they built them in batches throughout the run.

Yes, I'm talking someone at Chrysler involved with the project.
