My mom needs your thoughts and prayers.....>>>>>

I don't usually do this, but this time she's possibly facing surgery.

I don't talk much about my family life, but my mom has been hospitalized for the last 3 months with a myriad of problems.

Today I got a call from the hospital saying that the pump they used to drain off an internal infection she had at the beginning of this whole ordeal didn't fix the problem.

So a surgeon wants to go in and do an explorative procedure so they can pinpoint the problem.

Since her health is already compromised she's definitely an at risk candidate, but he feels there's just no other recourse.

Hence my asking for your thoughts and prayers.

I really appreciate 'em, and I know she will as well.

I do believe though if my mom was in the hospital for 3 months, and they didnt fix her in that amount of time, I would find a new hospital and a new Doc.

I pray for her to want to touch God, so he can heal your mom in the same way. I will hope for the best.

First of all, you guys are the best.

Just got back from the hospital, and she is in good spirits considering.

Said a couple prayers of my own on the way home too.

Got in touch with all the immediate family and everyone is on the same page (including her), so it looks like the surgery will more than likely happen tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Her twin and also one of her younger sisters will be coming into town tomorrow and I'm definitely grateful for the family type support.

She's been sick for so long (too many things to list!) that it's a relief that they may finally be able to get to the root of the problem.

The surgeon is confident and she was cleared by her internist, pulmonologist and also her cardiologist, so that's a very good thing.

Just never easy to have a family member under the knife, especially when it's your mom.

But I'll make sure to pass all of your well wishes and thoughts on to her when I see her tomorrow.

A quick update:

Surgery is scheduled for 2 pm CST today, so I'm getting ready to head to the hospital.

Definitely not the best night's sleep I've had in a while, but at least I got in a few hours.

I'll try and check back in some time this evening/tonight with another update.
