Technically, replacing any front end component requires an alignment check.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I just hate taking it to a shop because of course they have to drive it to check their work. I'm not crazy about them doing that. I'll do the bushing but I can't do the alignment

If you are that concerned about a licensed, insured, and trained tech driving the vehicle, then you could learn to do the alignment yourself. A couple hundred bucks worth of tools and a decent youtube video can get you there.

I plan to do just that for my 74 Charger. Any good videos you can recommend?

I just had a bad experience with the guy going for a joy ride. Kinda ruined me on taking it places. Also found out later the guys working there took pics of the climbing through the windows !

Thats not how i operate. We do not do classics as our main base but i have had plenty of high dollar race cars come through for chassis alignment based on the reputation we have.

Gotta be more than one garage in town... we all have horror stories.

When the A/C pump went on my 1990 TBird SC in 1995 I left it at the local Ford dealer, while they waited for the odd ball A/C pump for an SC over a base TBird to come in, and my son would come home off the school bus most days and say "I saw your car today". I would reply with "well Tom over at KB Tools has the same car but Automatic, so it was probably him".

Then one day I was heading for the next city 45 miles over and passed my car going in the other direction. They were using my TBird SC to fetch parts while they waited for my pump. 458 miles to be exact were put on my car. I think I still came up short when I emptied the dealership owners wallet that day of all his cash, when I picked it up and his service staff were stupid enough to show mileage when it came in.. and miles out on the invoice!

Thats almost a lawsuit. :2guns:
I'm the only guy in town that, some 22 years later,  still gets a loaner vehicle even if my truck's only in for an oil change... and the dealer ownership has clicked down 3 generations since the "event". Of course I bring the event up from time to time with the Service Manager, that back then was just the kid on the service counter. We have a chuckle and then he gives me the keys to a new car to take home with a dealer plate slapped on it.
