Who else is in to Jeeps? I have had several over the years. Been looking for something a little worn, not to clean, something I would take out in bad weather and not care. So I bought this.

Problem is it doesnt fit any of my criteria. Dang it!

1972 Charger Topper Special, 360ci, 46RH OD trans, 8 3/4 sure grip with 3.91 gear, 14.93@92 mph.
1973 Charger Rallye, 4 speed, muscle rat. Whatever engine right now?

Just noticed, even in the crappy cell camera photo you can see my 72 Charger in the reflection.

Nice CJ!  I was always a mustang guy, but I have always liked Jeeps and bought my TJ kinda on a whim. Best decision ever, I love the damn thing

Nice- We have a 2001 XJ that my son drives.  I've had a few XJ's, Grands (WJ?) and a Cj7

I do like the 4 door wranglers......hmmmm....

What year is yours Paul?

Paul G

Its a 2013. I wanted the Pentastar engine in this one. What a big improvement over the weak 3.8.

The wife had a '12 JKU. She loved it, but the pentastar is a piece of CRAP. We had to trade it on a 16 Chally.

Really?  Why?

My 2013 is AWESOME in the Caravan.  Plenty of power, when needed, and can get 30 mpg on the highway at a steady 75.    What's not to like?

I assume you had some issues?
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

RCCDrew

2  cylinder head replacements in 30,000 miles.  Google it, VERY common. But what really did it for me was the design of the oil filter housing. The oil filter housing has a integral relief valve and the retainer is made of plastic.  It can break, bypassing the oil filter and you will never know about it.  By the time I figured out what happened, I pulled the oil filter and it was already full of metal shavings. We traded the jeep in right away. Let the dealership have their headache back.  I know that they have revised the oil filter and filter housing design since 2012.
I am a Mopar guy 100%, and anal about my maintenance. My wife was driving the jeep. These problems are factory defects that they don't tell you about until it's too late. I have 2 other friends with Jeeps and one lost the engine and one is going through the filter full of metal thing right now.

I change my oil at 5K intervals and am careful when I do it, torquing the housing to 25 nm.
I also use Pennzoil 0W20 (which is the factory fill) with the Chrysler MS spec.  NEVER use an oil without that Chrysler spec on it...

Where did the metal come from in your engine to end up in the filter?

That is a super nice looking YJ !

I am aware of the left cylinder head issues. I believe that was a 2012 issue only. Back to the old saying never buy the first year. Mine will go to the dealer at the next oil change interval and see what was done to it. My local dealer does this 3 oil change special for $75. Not worth the time or effort to do it myself.

That Rio Grande was built with a spice top. When I needed to replace it, Bestop was clearing out their khaki tops as they'd discontinued them. Got that one from JC Whitney for about a third what the proper spice top would have cost. I'd changed the seat covers to grey, so, for the savings, it was a no-brainer.

The YJ may be the red headed stepchild of jeeps, but I love a nice clean looking one like that

Nice! Don't see many JKs with half doors I love the ones on my TJ I'm not sure why they aren't as popular on JKs
