I thought I had this understood, but I guess not  :shruggy:

1970 N95 - ECS "required on all cars registered in the state of California"
1970 b-body ordered with a HEMI included N42 - bright exhaust tips

so YES, '70 HEMI Charger R/Ts SOLD new in CA have both N42 & N95 (I have copies of paperwork for 2 HEMI R/Ts so equipped: FY1 & TX9)
per the "pocket salesman" - the extra cost N42 - bright exhaust tips were N/A in CA  :shruggy: (they were INCLUDED with the HEMI & not DELETED)
how were the other HEMI b-bodies handled?  For the same reason "no turndowns for HEMI resonators" - ALL '70 HEMI b-bodies have tips, all 50 states.

are there any 440 4bbl or 440 Six Pack '70 Charger R/Ts (or Coronet R/Ts) with N42 & N95?
are there any N-code or V-code Super Bees or Road Runners with N42 & N95?

tips were STANDARD on the GTX, were they DELETED on non-HEMI cars destined for CA?  are there N95 440 (U/V) GTXs w/o tips & are there N95 440 (U/V) GTXs w/tips?

My 70 Hemi Superbird  has N95 and came with resonators and chrome tips.  N41 and N42 are NOT on the fender tag or the window sticker probably because it part of the Hemi package. :Twocents:

No N42 on my tag. I'm pretty sure my 440 4bbl R/T came with turn downs. LEON.

My 70 RR built @ LA plant and sold in CA has N41, N42 N95 also.

I've never seen a 70 Charger RT with N41 & N42 on the body/fender tag, not sure if it was a St. Louis thing or just included in the RT package

it was a '70 St. Louis "thing" no N41 or N42 fender tag stamps - but they did stamp N95

St. Louis built b-bodies ONLY for model year 1970.
engines dictated the N41, N42 was an OPTION on: Road Runner, Super Bee, Coronet R/T & Charger R/T (but  :2thumbs: included with HEMI)
N42 was STANDARD on GTX
