Is there a link or pictures on how to remove and install a heater core on a 1969 Charger with AC?

Thanks...is it hard to do this? How much time should it take?

Not sure, never pulled an original a/c heater box before  :shruggy:

Get you a factory service manual and follow the directions in it. You dont have to pull the entire heater box out on an A/C car. It's a tedious job but the service manual is a huge help. I did one for a buddy of mine on his 69 factory A/C charger and it was a good 4 to 6 hour job if I remember correctly. My charger is a non A/C car and I had to pull the whole heater box out to replace the heater core on it which wasn't too bad since it was non A/C. It just kinda sucks having to work under the dash for over a half a day.....

Where is the best place to get a A/C Heater Core and how much should it cost?

You could send your original one out to be reconditioned.

Since it is a part that no one will ever see, I would just go to NAPA, Auto Zone or Advance.
They are $50-60 usually. 2837419 is the original pn if they can cross it.  It won't cross on line.

you wont find one at Napa, I got mine from Classic Ind, & also get the heater valve that is in the case with the core.

I did more checking.  And you are correct cdr. Not even Rock Auto has one WITH a/c. They have or can get just about anything.
That is surprising, Especially since I got mine for the 73 with a/c at Advance.   :shruggy:

I saw that, but I sure there is some place else.

A/C heater cores have been tough to find for more than a decade. Most of my cars are A/C so it kind of sucks. If Classic has them then that means there are finally repros - which is better than not having anything.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Nope that is non ac

this is what it looks like

Yep, an awful looking animal for sure!!! My buddy sent his out to somewhere and had it rebuilt or reconditioned. I'm not sure where he sent it to but I pulled it out one weekend and two weekend's later I put it back in. On my non A/C charger I was able to order one for my car locally and have it the next day but for the longest time a new A/C heater core did not exist...

I remember back around 1990 or so nobody had or could get the AC type heater core but a local radiator repair shop that I talked did some checking at that time and found they were reproducing them and I think I paid around 70 bucks for it back then.  I think if a person really needed to it shouldn't be to hard to fab a smaller heater core to fit in the place of the big monster of a  heater core.

15 years ago, I routed my heater hoses to the A/C evaporator. It worked good, but if the fan was on high while idling, the air would start getting a little cool.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
