Got 15 x 8 magnum 500's front and rear with 225/70/15's BFG's on the front and 275/60/15's BFG's on the rear.

Do you like that size front tire better than a 235/60r15, if so why? Thanks

I had 245/60R 15's on the front when I first changed the wheels and tires from the vectors that were on it and it didn't drive as good with the wider tires on the front. I really liked the look but not the way it drove. I had 225/70R 15's on the vectors and it drove very straight and after swapping to the magnum's I wanted to go with a wider look so I put the 245 60's on it and it wanted to follow every track in the road. Sold the 245's and went back to the 225/70's and it went right back to normal and driving good again. Just my experience but I see alot of guy's on here running the wider tires on front with no issues but mine drove like crap with them. My buddy had a 70 challenger and did the same thing and it didn't drive good with the wider front tires either so it may just be a trial and error thing......

I had 245/60/15's on the front of mine with a proper alignment and it was comparable to a modern charger.  Currently i have 15x7s up front with 205/75s and 15x10s out back with 30x9x15 slicks.

Just put 15X8 Torq Thrust D with 4.5 back space 0 offset w 255/60R15 Cooper RWL on all four corners. Rides nice. (70 Charger)

The last time I had my front end lined up was around 2001 or so. It drives fine with the 225 70's and looks fine so i'm good with it. Takes a long time for me to wear out a set of tires on the front at least, hehehe but maybe next time I may try to run the 245's again and have the front end lined up and see how it goes from there.

...yeah...why choose between crap ride and vague handling...when you can have both!

I can see the reasoning for going with stock sizes if the car is restored to stock and isn't intended to be driven much.

Put on different wheels and new skinny radial tires. Halibrand replica wheels 15"x 10" 295/50/15 Mickey Thompson ST's in the back and 15"x 8" 235/60/15 ST's up front.

I went with 245/60r15 on Vectors. I wanted to be able to rotate them, and still have a some what wide look.

295/50's are so skinny next to N50's

My 295/50's are 12-5/8" wide mounted on 10" Cragar's. Just curious, how wide is the N50 mounted on a 10"rim?

I like the period look and think Chargers look best with Cragars so I have 15X7/15X8s on mine

I have them mounted on old American Racing 200's that may be 10.5" rather than 10".
If memory serves me, N50's were not all the same in the 80's.  Formula 1 super stocks were
narrower than Indy and Protrac, not by much but enough to brag on.   I liked Indy's better than Protrac. 
But Protrac had better poster girl adds than Mickey Thompson not a racy as the wheel adds from
Superior Soupers and Indian mags but nice wall hangers.  Your 295's are slightly wider than
my Mickey Thompson ST radials not by much but enough to call out that yours are wider.

My used N50's were slightly different width than the NOS ones I just put on the 200's wheels.

....and those rears don't touch the metal? Rears look great......don't think I could live with those fronts though...it's not that they are narrow but that they are so far in. Fully understand the reasoning behind the look though!

I like it....although there will be a lot on here that most definitely won't. I looked at going 20....but tyre choice is rubbish in the UK on 20 inch street rubber (loads of choice if you have a big 4X4 though!). Also they are lots more cash than 18 or even 19 inch tyres...probably due the the large numbers of cars using those sizes from the factory. I'm going with 18 in front and rear...but with higher profile and wider rubber at the rear. Want the very tops of the tyres just hidden by the metalwork too.
