Has anyone painted one of these prior to installation?  I'm thinking something should be applied to inhibit future rust.  I didn't want to pay the extra $150 to have them powder coat it black.

Thanks

I just used silver engine enamel on mine and after a year light surface developed even when my car is garaged. I would etch prime and paint it.

I bought mine with a raw finish and just clear coated it with some rattle can clear. Its been 2 years and looks new still.

Thanks for the info.  So it doesn't sound like anyone is painting them black.  I assume the raw finish is the "original" look, and any paint is simply a rust inhibitor?  Are we talking a rattle can clear coat?

I gave it a good scuff first with some scotch brite, then wiped it down with grease/wax remover  :2thumbs:
