I agree and that's why I am keeping mine when I am done and passing my cars on to my son one day down the road.

Yes. There are personal reasons that he is staying away but it's not my position to share them.

I hate to say it ,but that's likely one of the reasons he hasn't been back. Whatever he has going on is one burdon, and he probably views the registry as another.
