Ive tried to research tq's and advice but get different answers.  I called TA and he recommended this one.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tac-17805st/overview/   I think that's a little too much for my application and feel the 11" version should be ok.
I'm also looking at the Hughes 24-25 below.  Talking with Dynamic, they are recommending even more on a 9". So I called the cam tech at Engle where I had my K56 ground 224@50 112 lobe center, 504 lift and he said the cam was a lower rpm (start about 1800) range and to stay with a stock verter so now I'm confused. Big difference in rpm stall and prices..   :shruggy:

Other than the cam specs
440 source alum heads
6 bbl carbs
3.55 gear 27" tires
stock exhaust manifolds w/2.5 pipes
Is there that much difference in quality or performance between the Hughes and Turbo Action brand?   Like many, I want something for everyday driving and some street stomping on the 440.
Opinions or experience with either above please or maybe another.  I want to order by tonight

I agree with the Engle tech, I'd stay with a stock 11" hi-stall converter.

Like the one ad says "Actual stall speed may differ due to engine combination, gear selection, and vehicle weight." Some are more honest in their claims than others.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I am running a TCI Breakaway 11" in my Charger...also running the Engle K56 cam in my 440.  Very street friendly.  Been running this with my RMVB for 15+ years with no issues :Twocents:

Good Grief!

Your car will be absolutely fine with a stock converter.  If you want it to have a higher stall, then proceed in that direction.  But you don't need it, and it will gain you nothing.

I ran the MP 272° cam (222° @ 0.050") in my Charger back in the day, with the 3.23, and the factory original 12" converter.  Car weighed like 4250 at that time. It ran 12.9s consistently at 109 mph.

Here is the deal with talking with converter companies, they sell converters.  Here is the reality regarding actual performance with a street car with real real street tires.  The TIRE, let me repeat, the TIRE is what limits your low speed acceleration.  I have a bucket full of track data that supports this.

One of my buddies that was doing a bunch of track testing with me at the time tested a bunch of stock-ish camshafts in his 69 R/T.  It was like mine - 3.23 gear, stock factory converter.  I think the K56 might have been one of the cams tested.  He really likes the Engle stuff.  I can shoot him an email and ask him his thoughts on the converter, but I already know what he will say.  Let me know.

Sure if you got time and he wont mind offering his thoughts  :2thumbs:.  I want to replace the one I have as I have no idea of what car it came out of or what engine nor condition. Ones a 12" and the other a 11".  I think it was out of the original 383 but the years have gone by and with it some memory. I just got the tranny back so I at least wanted to have a converter with known info. to start with and if buying a new one, make a decent choice.

For awhile, you could not get a 11" converter from any of the vendors. Nobody was making 11" housings and the cores were getting harder to find. I called around 2 years ago when I wanted to get rid of my slippy 10" converter...Almost everyone tried to sell me on another  10" one.

That cam is going to idle nice at 900 rpm. Stock converter is fine.

Here is Lew's message:

"i used the k56intake/k58 exhaust, hughs 2330. a single pattern k56 will be like a mopar 272-.455 with a little more area under the curve (128@.200 vs 136@.200). a stock 11 3/4" converter and 3.23 gear will work fine. stock exhaust will work too."

PTC can rebuild one of your converters for less money than buying a new one.    :yesnod:    I sent them a 11" core and had them build it to my cars specs to have 2400-2500 stall.   They can rebuild and modify however you like.     Judging from the other guys recommendations, you could do a factory rebuild on the 11" and be perfect.    :2thumbs:
