You guys ever wach graveyard carz?I thinks its really cool.I wish that Mark guy was my nieghbor. I bet he could show me some pointers on my old Mopars.  ;)

Funny thing about that show, I never see him using any of the old shade tree tricks that I grew up using, such as using a broom stick to check for knocks, stuck lifters, starting the car by crossing the solanoid with a srew driver, etc.

TruckDriver

He is a member here. Either people love him or hate him. I like the guy. I totally understand his sense of humor. I laughed out loud 3 times during this past episode. If you serch the show on this site, you will find a long long post about him and his good or bad side. It is what it is. AND, it is the ONLY show anywhere on tv about Mopar's only.

The bickering gets tiresome and seems to be the theme of every reality show. If it wasn't for the FF button on my remote I couldn't watch any of them.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I watched the show only once....

the commercials were more entertaining and informative than his show was....

was assured by "the producer" on another site that they have axed the so called "funny crap" which frankly WASN'T.
but haven't seen any of the "new "episodes to see if that is a fact or not

"please enough with the pranks/BS, it makes it seem that the show is being run by high school kids . maybe its a regional thing (I'm in Australia) but any "boss " that did half the crap that I saw before I stopped watching half way through season 2 would be found in the back ally with a plank around his head ( its just not funny, I'd call it demeaning !!) . fox actually stopped showing it over here, haven't seen 3, 4 ,5 seasons advertised. people stopped watching, might give it another go but ......"

"Yeah, the show now is completely different than Season 1 and 2, tonally and content wise. Cars are put in the foreground and the drama is so far in the background it's hard to notice.

Hope Season 5 and 6 gets your way so you can give it another shot"

The corny over played humor is not as noticeable anymore, but they do go a bit overboard once in a while. And yes, things are more MOPAR based now.

I'll watch anything if there's a Mopar in it, no matter how bad. Dukes, Blade, F&F. Bad programming hasn't stopped me yet.

41husk

I agree, I have sat through many bad B movies to see the Mopar :shruggy:  I think Mark's ex son in law had a fling with the ex office girl.  They were pretty chumy, then all off the sudden his attractive daughter is single, and those two are gone :popcrn:

moparnation74

I really enjoy the daughter on the show.  Not only for the candy aspect but her actual desire for working/learning about these cars.  Real or not(still TV) it makes the show much me appealing.  In a way it deflects from the annoying antics.  Those antics that poly referenced over on FBBO that the producer stated these were going away :shruggy:  What can you expect though Poly it was the same producer who thought he knew more about Mopars than the members there, lol

All and all and antics aside, I like the new format/lineup....as the season progress hopefully the ballerina antics subside and fizzle....

crj1968

The dude has a successful show for a reason; his personality.
I think he is pretty entertaining.

The Bitchin' Rides guys are good too.

Overhauling; boring, except that that they threw in some eye candy.

1974dodgecharger

if you think im funny that means you must like graveyard cars..... :2thumbs:

cooldude

I like that Mark really knows stuff like production numbers, options, and so on. He really knows his stuff.

But I would kind of like to see some of the stuff revealed that only a few old Mopar heads know. Like the old school mechanics tricks that are completely lost to the new generation of mopar guys and mechanics who cant seem to begin to know how to fix a car without first plugging it into a diagnostic computer.

billssuperbird

I see mark is building a superbird clone for some one.

BrianShaughnessy

I enjoy watching the show on occassion.    Non mopar guys seem to believe his hype more than I do.

It's much improved since he rolled out the original crew.   :Twocents:
Black Betty:  1969 Charger R/T - X9 440 six pack, TKO600 5 speed, 3.73 Dana 60.

ACUDANUT

Too Much clowning around.  I'd like to see a car done from beginning to end in one show.

Moparman01

Last season was a HUGE improvement over the the prior years, and a lot of that was thanks to getting rid of Darren and Josh. They did the show absolutely no good! This new season has been ok so far, but kind of a step back from last year with too much goofing around again. For instance, this weeks new episode, Mark kept giving Will (the painter) all kinds of hassle while he was getting ready to spray the "phantom" 'Cuda in final paint/clear. All i kept thinking was "quit acting like a jack-ass and just let the guy paint the damn car already!!", i'd rather watch the paint process actually happen rather than Mark going over the car with a magnifying glass (literally!!) and making dumb movie references. I still faithfully watch the show since it is 100% Mopar, but it is frustrating from time to time.

ACUDANUT

At the GYC series, they never act like professionals.  They, again should act like professional and do one car per show...like over hauling. If it takes 2 episodes to do this, so be it.  They have to have more than 3 employees there.

cooldude

I would really like the guys to do an episode or two on Mopar trucks. Maybe a Little Red Express truck?

Because Overhauling is so believable and should be the example of how a car should be restored? That is like saying professional wrestling should be more like roller derby or something like that.  These shows should be taken for what they are, entertainment.   In the case of Graveyard Carz, its not a bad thing to be able to see Chargers being restored on TV, BS or not.

Problem is that the show ,when not bs , it is nothing but a commercial. Mark just needs to step away from the camera and let us see cars being restored. Oh yeah he can't because everything he has is because of the people sponsoring the show .

That is it right there......You have to find a proper format and have a balance to appeal to the whole captive audience.  The first couple episodes this season seemed to be moving in the right direction.  Less antics, more cars and some sponsors mentioned.  Since then it has just went downhill from that point.

It is a shame because it would not take much to make the show right!

I was testing a new model technique for creating damaged panels. I needed a very wrecked car to model, so i made the Graveyard's 'Cuda, Mrs Oregon.

I pressed aluminium sheet onto the panel of an existing model, then bent it up and back filled it with body filler to keep it's shape. The only kit part used was the chassis.

i used this technique on my Gone In 60 Seconds Eleanor

That'd be well and good, but if it takes 2 years to do a car (white Superbird that was driven alllllll the way home), then it's kind of hard to do a car an episode.

The quality of those cars isn't always the best, they often bring the car back in for fixing, and they also have a crew of about 50 with a mostly unlimited budget. GYC only works as fast as they get paid I'm sure.

She is good eye candy. I can't tell if she is just acting as she goes through the paces of the broadcast. In fact, how do we know that they really are related? This is a TV show, right? She looks nothing like Mark.  She could just be a pretty actress playing a role.
