Thoughts on a 440

First off, I'm better at paint and body than engine builds. The PO rebuilt the engine and provided all the receipts for what was in it. So by going with what he put into it I'm trying to figure out if it is a good build or is it going to leave me wanting. It's backed by a TCI Streetfighter converter and 727 trans running to a 4.10 sure grip that was swapped in. I want to know what kind of numbers might be coming out such as CR and HP without having to fork out dough for dyno time. It hasn't see the street in 20yrs since I started the restoration as soon as I bought it.
The build is as follows:
440 block from 78 4006630 STD bore
TRW-L2388F Flat top forged aluminum pistons
452 Heads with a standard valve job running with the FEL-1009 Head gasket
Cam is the MP Purple shaft 284 with .484 lift, he said he tried three different ones and settled on this one.
He upgraded the intake to the Edelbrock CH-28 Dual Quad and topped it with a set of 1404s. I read that the intake recommendation is the 1405s so I don't know why he went with the 1404s.
Finshed it off with a set of stock HP exhaust manifolds 2806900 and 2843992

Any help or advice would be great!

I did a little bit of online research on those pistons, looks like they will give you around 8.1 compression ratio, judging from what I read about them.

That is a smog piston. With the head gasket listed, you might be at 7.8:1, 8:1 if the heads were cut when rebuilt. With that bottom end and cam, djtch the dual quad for a performer rpm/750 holley and a set of long tube headers. Best educated guess on slicks would be mid 13s with those changes. 14.0s as it sits. It should run great on 87 octane though. Max performance will probably be with initial timing at 22, total at 38-40.

It will probably run "fine", but I wouldn't expect to feel blown away by the power.

Unfortunately, in order to really "fix" it, it would have to come completely apart and new pistons swapped in.

The "I can get you close(ish)" answer is, buy some 75cc e-street heads and have them milled to about 68-70cc to replace the 452's.
